It’s true though.

Chris Judd underwent reconstructions on both shoulders before he was even drafted and he turned out to be a massive bust. With that sort of history, Jagga Smith is in trouble.

Comparing Jagga to Judd. This place is amazing sometimes.

I did preface my opinion by saying IF he cops another big stint on the sidelines. Until proven otherwise, there is a massive question mark (that seems to be ignored in here) on his body that I think precludes him from being considered the next Judd.

Kade Simpson says hello

Pick 3 on a loose half-back with the most losing career record ever? Not the flex you think this is.

Nope.

I was comparing injuries. I could have named any player who has had reconstructions as a teenager, Chris Judd was just the one that came immediately to mind. I do get the concern with Jagga Smith as copping an ACL in his first preseason isn’t ideal. I just feel like he’s more likely to be a great player and he’d have to be very unlucky to get injured in the same way again.

Outrageously shameful clip to Kade. Do better

Mate, you must be trolling for attention.

Seriously, if you look at a number of recent champions, bulk has absolutely nothing to do with success or failure.

As stated earlier, the last thing an athlete should do is bulk after an ACL. Let alone a rookie player in any case.

Finally, to take a swipe at Kade Simpson and his win/loss ratio is trawling. If Simmo played in another team during his career and turned his shoulder on Carlton, he would have had a much better record.

Every Draftee until proven otherwise applies you can’t disprove a negative so bit of meaningless statement the same could said about Ashcroft was said about Selwood.
Even Dean with his shoulder what you find is gun driven players learn adapt and grow he has taken ownership of how he wants to play he didn’t want to bulk up and lose his best ability nimble evasion and agility.
Hes one touch and clean was racking up 31 disposals EIGHT clearances 5 marks as teenager in the VFL.
He will improve the team on and off field how much im not sure im tipping a lot.
In the vein of big question marks you could say Judd couldn’t mark above his head because of his shoulders and Jagga can therefore the question mark is will Jagga win more brownlows.
In his own words he is feeling better physically than he has ever felt to me he looks hard looks to have put on weight in a mart way evenly over his whole body quads and calves included.
I find it a bit arrogant to think you know better than the player and conditioning staff when comes to body conditioning.

I wasn't there but mate said HOF all going well and targeting bye to return
No one knows what is happening with Elijah
Kemp recovering slowly
Jagga flying. Full training in January
Somewhat expected HOF to have an “early” return. Seemed on the “lower end” of an ACL(perhaps partial), not dissimilar to Doc.
I am sure we will not jump the gun. Jagga seems to be “ready” early as well.

Slow and steady for Kemp is fine as long as the improvement is there.
I hope he’s looking at it in weeks not days otherwise it could get frustrating.
On a graph it will look like a slight upward curve then at some point it will go almost vertical.
Just has to be conservative must be tempting to test it and push.
He was in career best form before his injury.
I remember him with Charlie during lockdown a bottle of wine in the background and Charlie saying this kid is a gun

Don’t think it works like that. Even a partial tear will result in a full ligament replacement. Sounds like his surgery went well with no complications. Best not to rush his recovery. If he doesn’t play next season that is giving it a fully 18 months and lower the risk of injuring his knee

Correct on the partial tear recovery. It’s the same surgery essentially so recovery is the same.

Don’t agree at all with the need to give HOF a full year off. Around the world an ACL is starting to be treated more as a 9 month injury. 12 is beyond sufficient.

I also think it’s a dangerous thing to hold someone back when they’re ready to go. ACL rehab is lonely, painful and frustrating. If it were me and I’d done all the work just for the club to wrap me in cotton wool, I’d be furious.

No need to rush him in ala Doc 2024, but if he’s fit, he deserves to be playing footy

Mentioning that Judd had injuries but was able to have a good career is not comparing him to Jagga.
