I'm intrigued by the motivation for maintaining the suppression order?
Surely Mr R is not under the misapprehension that no one knows who he actually is?
Pretty sure everyone who posts here knows his identity, as well as thousands elsewhere.
It's not a difficult task, finding his identity on the internet.
Just seems an exercise in futility by maintaining appearances.
The 'motivation for maintaining the suppression order' lies in (1) the specific reasons the suppression orders were granted in the first place and (2) a desire to prevent a potential defence being able to argue that years of publicity/gossip has prevented any chance of a fair trial (as was successfully argued re the latter VE charges and was a major reason why the charges were 'dropped').

Your observation that ‘everyone knows’ and ongoing evidence of harassment and exposure from the media and people like Debi Marshall are reasons to SUPPORT the continued maintenance of suppression orders under the ‘fair trial’ principle, rather than providing grounds for overturning them.

So if you want to maintain the potential for justice to be done, these suppression orders are vital and ought to be respected.

Thanks for that, Zebo.
Well and correctly explained.
Appreciate you taking the time.
It's surprising - well, maybe not - just how easy it is to come across his name, business, activities etc. on the internet, if you are acquainted with his story.
Sadly ... there'll never be any trial going forward where he'll be involved.

Vision of two Detectives walking out of the prison after seeing BVE.

Did they get the rehearsed story, or did BVE give the Family both barrels?

He has been constant with his line, "I only played the harp to RK"

As difficult as it is to bring up, it’s something that hasn’t really been discussed. I often wonder how many surviving victims may have contracted HIV, given the risks at that time. The physicality alone was sexually horrendously dangerous.
AIDS was first diagnosed in 1982, and the first death was in 1984. Hopefully, the victims just escaped the outbreak.

Scientists believe the virus may have been circulating undetected for many years —possibly up to a decade— before the first officially recognized cases. If the victims had been r*ped by multiple perpetrators, the risk of transmission would understandably be a significant concern. Fortunately, there have been no official public reports indicating that any victims contracted the virus as a result of the attacks, suggesting that, hopefully, no such transmissions occurred.

I sincerely wish that Darko Kastellan, Lewis Turtur, Clocker and Mr. B, with appropriate legal protections and indemnities, would fully disclose everything they know. After all this time, do they truly believe that an elderly timepiece salesman, with a lot of now-dead posh friends, could still pose any kind of physical threat to them?

I’m also struck by the extent to which BVE appears to have sacrificed his entire adult life to protect others who were allegedly equally involved. It’s hard to understand — no amount of pressure, fear, or potential retaliation seems worth maintaining that level of silence. Had he cooperated with authorities, he likely would have received a much shorter sentence. At this stage, as BVE nears the end of his life this week, one wonders what he has left to lose by finally speaking openly. I can’t imagine how it would feel to serve forty-two years universally despised and incarcerated while your alleged co-conspirators went on with their daily lives. Do it BVE. Do it!
