That's the downside to these manufactured Grand Finals, if the "grandstand finish" they try and cook up fails it just looks cheap and fake, like the NASCAR finale every year

Compare this with Bathurst which had none of the manipulation of the points, yet

The upside is whining from Triple 8

If they want to do this thing to keep the end of the year spicy it needs to be a seperate cup. You can't take the championship off the guy who's been best all year by a mile for one bad race. And of course its going to encourage teammates to punt their teams main rival. I don't even know if Chaz really wants to win like this when he reflects on it.

If anything he was lucky not to be completely red flagged out of the race. Pre-meditated move. He was either trying to punt Feeney deliberately, or at best didn't care if he punted Feeney. Feeney was stupid not to just let him go, but this was clearly a "team orders" move to take Feeney out of the race.

im glad chaz is a champ cos i like him as a driver and a bloke but to me it just feels hollow with the finals. Its not like an 8 wins to 7 situaton, feeney was truly dominant and to have it ripped away cos of 1 shocker of a race, not even round, feels overly harsh

Thats finals though.

Geelong dealt with Brisbane early in the finals and got owned 3 weeks later.
