His hands are awesome when grabbing the ball. Just plucking it out of the air with minimal effort. And doing it on the run, flat out. He has all the silk of Yarran and SPS, and hopefully none of their injury issues.
I often wonder if the coaches would try him off half back?
I don’t like him being played out of the pocket because of his athleticism and skills. Must be played through the half forward line.

If I was the coaches, I'd be training him to go as high up the ground as the wing and then turning to run back to goal when we have possession of the ball. If they don't have one of their fastest defenders on him when he does that, he's just going to burn off whatever opposition player is going to be covering him. His athleticism is going to destroy defenders.

Then you have the bonus of him opening a leading lane for Harry or Skull to run into. We know that Harry is quick and likes going on long leads because he can burn his opponent like that.

Moir’s silky Rolls-Royce style reminds me a bit of Bontempelli. Not predicting he’ll be quite as good as The Bont!

Watch Ison as well. Bit of Bont/Pendles the way he moves and uses it

For a side that had very poor ball use in 2025 we will add Moir Ison Jagga Dean Chesser Ainsworth Florent Newman to regular best 23 who are all better ball users

If Wilson Boyd Byrne step up we are even better with ball in hand

Should help us improve and see a major change to way we play

Moir Jagga Ison Chesser Ainsworth Byrne around HF, pushing up ground and through middle is exciting

Completely different look and skill set

Got smashed for this comment back in October. So it wasn't just me.

I haven’t been yet but people I speak with are saying it’s a very different pre season so far to last two.

Coaches heavily involved in different activities. Lot of work on ball use and intensity is high. Definite big shift in how we do things.

Every spot in 23 up for grabs. No favourites

Work on game plan/style will start in Jan but focus so far has been on quicker ball movement

Feel is new coaches and new players have brought a step up in standards. Lot of bonding work going on

Early days but good to hear

PS I asked about Elijah and comment was he is training well and looks good but so does White Phillips & Paea

The guy whose form I am very interested in is Frankie Evans.

His last 4 games were at an elite level.

If he can back that up into next year then our forward line will be so much more dangerous.

Gotta be honest, Soap, I reckon the same has been said every year for the last 10 straight.

Not saying it's not true. I reckon preseasons are full of optimism and positivity and new ideas.

But for that reason I'm only optimistically skeptical ;)

Not gonna get too excited about this group til they show it in the season proper. Bury the shit teams, compete with the good teams, and don't let our standards be dictated by the level of the opposition like we've so long been prone to do.

As much as Heath Buck grinds a few gears with a certain crowd, he is never one to hold any punches in regard to the club or how players are tracking. He's been impressed from the sounds of things so far, which I take as fairly reliable info given he's generally on the sceptical side of commentary and hesitant to hand out praise to anyone.

Who’s been in the good books so far with HB?

Don’t disagree

I am looking for genuine change in what we are trying to do and in standards.

I thought Bucky's recent training YouTube video showed the boys moving the ball much cleaner and faster than previous years.(where we always looked sloppy)

Eli and Jagga stood out for me. Pitto miles ahead of HOK and Reidy.

Ison got a massive wrap despite some bizarre commentary on him through the season pre draft. Pretty much said he's one of the best kicks he's seen come into the club in years.

Elijah Hollands was apparently the standout for him at last weeks session

Walsh looks in good condition

Hayward and Florent probably the other two but didn't really sound too shocked with them, more just a huge fan of their training standards and the Swans professionalism they've brought to the club.

Sure there were some others I've forgotten over the 35 min video.

Other than that he shared similar opinions to many on here have - If you're a player who can't kick and can't spread from the contest, you're going to be in serious trouble this season at the Blues. Called out Acres a bit for that.

Cheers!

Ison up forward or can we see him on a wing to get selection?

Interesting re: Acres - VFL on the cards if his kicking remains the same? Coaches/MC need to hold firm on the selection criteria if we’ve got turnover merchants.

Didn’t hear on the results of BA vs Chesser & Lucas vs OH wing matchups.
