Bob O'Brien details this in Young Blood (p178-179):

"There were 525 foreign fibres on Richard’s clothes and they were sorted into their different colours: mainly red, orange, brown, violet and aqua. The red fibres were mostly synthetic but there were some woollen fibres. The orange fibres were a combination of synthetic and wool, and most of the foreign fibres were taken from Richard’s jeans. The brown fibres were predominantly wool but some were synthetic, while the violet fibres were synthetic and all over Richard’s clothing; the aqua fibres were also synthetic.

The scientific evidence to show that Richard Kelvin was at von Einem’s home was standing up to scrutiny. At the time of von Einem’s arrest the fibre evidence was still being checked. Scientific examination using a technique called thin-layer chromatography showed that nine different coloured fibres from four different sources — all relating to von Einem — were on all of Richard Kelvin’s clothes, including his underpants. There were blue and turquoise fibres that were exactly the same as fibres from von Einem’s bedroom carpet; blue and purple fibres that were exactly the same as fibres in his passageway and loungeroom; and yellow and orange fibres from the bedspread in his bedroom.

Of the 525 fibres recovered from Richard’s clothing, 196 were from von Einem’s home or his clothing. Thirty-eight came from his bedspread, twenty-seven came from his bedroom carpet, twenty-one from his hall and lounge carpet, and 110 fibres found on Richard were from von Einem’s brown cardigan. Only two fibres from Richard’s own home environment were left on his clothing. No fibres from the maroon velour seats of von Einem’s Toyota Corona hatchback were on Richard’s clothes. There could be no doubt that von Einem was with Richard and, with the number of fibres from von Einem’s cardigan, it showed close contact.

Many hairs were found on Richard’s clothing and while most of them were Richard’s, there were a number of hairs from a different source. Five of von Einem’s head hairs were found inside Richard’s jeans."

This seems to cover fibres that were found with RK's body on his clothing.

Zebo appears to be referring to fibres from RKs clothing themselves, being found in Von Einem's house.

It's reasonable to suggest that RK was likely still on Thora's property when she came home, just hidden and she didn't see him.

The only other place RK might have been hidden IMO is in an old freezer at his work. Someone should have asked if there were any freezers lying around that had a padlock on it.

A padlock on a freezer might be easily explained as containing barramundi, king prawns or the Xmas lobsters. Expensive seafood.
I can't remember what the video was but I watched one on Youtube recently where the killer had 4 or 5 chains with padlocks around his freezer and when the kids wanted an icecream it took him 20 minutes to get them. My thought at the time was that finding out you were eating an icecream that was stored alongside a body might be enough to make you puke it up, especially if the body had been chopped up to fit it in. Now I'd be wary of eating anything that comes from a padlocked freezer.

I didn't really envision chains but I do know someone who keeps his freezer on the porch, it's strapped down and padlocked, he's a deep sea fisherman though and I've been in to it a couple of times. No bodies, just fish.

Ok. Was the law firm named?
According to Marshall, the businessman was represented by Gilbert Aitken.
To quote the book .....
"Aitken lumbers to his feet, hastily adjusting his suit jacket as he launches into submissions to ensure his client's identity remains suppressed. Chris and I (Marshall) exchange a glance. The businessman's name has been deleted from our amended list, so why is Aitken making arguments today?"
He also applied for costs.

We all knew he wouldn’t talk.

Absolute coward to the end.

What a shame our taxes were used to keep him breathing for 40+ years.
We don't actually know what he said or didnt say at all. (I doubt he said anything useful). If he did blow the case wide open the police wouldn't be running to the press with that info, they'd secure the case and we'd only hear about it down the line.

When news broke of von Einem being moved to Yatala's infirmary last month it stirred up fresh interest in the community.

My theory: hot speculation in the media that he would remain silent & not reveal any names prompted a former rape victim to come forward through sheer frustration that ageing perpetrators would never come to justice. Coincidentally, this week the AFP raided a solicitor's business & residence. He was arrested, charged & released to face court in January. SAPOL & the AFP may have then flushed other aggrieved parties out of the woodwork as there are 5 complainants (according to 7 News), the alleged underage sex crimes going back decades. Any of the solicitor's & von Einem’s mutual alleged victims would now be aged around 60-ish & likely feel they have nothing to lose by going public after years of simmering anger.

In this week's case there may have been more alleged victims in the decades subsequent to von Einem's incarceration. This could be the break South Australians & subscribers to this thread have long been waiting for ie: new information from fresh sources. Von Einem held his tongue but former associates in his clique could yield.

The timing this week with the lawyer is interesting.

He was a gutter coward.

He had plenty of time and opportunity to show remorse but steadfastly refused.

He had no semblance of humanity within him.

He was a uniquely evil piece of evil and doesn't deserve mourning or remembrance.

Imo.

Normally that would be a fairly reasonable assumption.

But IMHO Malinauskus is a very straight shooter. He calls a spade a spade. In his statement today, his choice of words was very deliberate and made it clear that Von Einem gave nothing.

The SA Premier in a press conference, told us the suppression orders will stand. Sapol put a case forward, suggesting the orders were protecting a witness.
He also stated that Detectives got nothing out of BVE in their last interview.
Who are the police protecting the witness from? To put suppression orders in place to protect the witness, it would suggest SAPOL already knows plenty. Time to lift the suppression orders and drain the swamp.IMO

Fair enough if some are witnesses. Certainly no reason for suppression orders to still be on people who we know are guilty.

mixed feelings about his death. guess some naive part of me still hoped he would talk some day.

mr r wont be far behind.

even mr b looks old as hell these days. clocker is the one who still looks relatively young. can someone remind me how old he was when all this went down? i thought he was around mr b's age, but apparently not.

I would guess B needs to be protected.
He is the easiest to find and interreact with. Said G day to him on a few occasions.

The police laid out the case to him. I think the briefing went a couple of hours. Pretty sure Mali knows who did what now

Why hasn’t there been more investigation into the clock shop owner? Has anyone ever been inside his shop? Is it open to the public? Can anyone share what it is like inside there?

Histology will determine if a body has been frozen and then thawed.

No. We're going back to 1983 here.

Even now it's difficult o determine if a body's been frozen and you have to be looking for it to start with.

Histology has been used for a very long time. And the fairly recent case of Derrance Stevenson would have been fresh in mind.

I've spent a lot of time doing the research, I think it's solid.

Manock screwed up time of death.
