Of course it doesn't, it's simply an impossible dream, as noble as it is.I ask again - should we embrace the darkness or should we each of us strive to be a better human?
Kindness costs NOTHING.

Correct. Could have easily been 50-100 dead with an assault rifle
They've reported on the news one had a shotgun - the other had a semi. Hence the 100 or so odd shots. In one image you can see shotgun cartridges on the ground and two guys with shotgun cartridge belts. I don’t know if you can get semi auto shotguns
lady ch7, some sort of pollie, said she witnessed at least two people die.
She is Kellie Sloane, the NSW Opposition leader, but also the local Member of Parliament. She was at another local event when the shootings occurred; went in a community ambulance and ended up under the bridge where the gunmen were shown shooting from, and assisted some injured.I think they said she’s the opposition leader

In this countryThey had semi-automatic weapons. Automatic weapons have never been street legal.
There's at least one police officer dead. So, perhaps they did respond immediately. To be honest I am surprised it lasted so long as there are always police at Bondi Beach. I am surprised they did not respond in less than a few minutes.
So give up? Embrace every atrocity because its inevitable and we'll never know any better as a species? No. We are f*cking BETTER than that.Of course it doesn't, it's simply an impossible dream, as noble as it is.

It isn’t too difficult to get a semi automatic license. Living in a rural area I know dozens that have themI'm hearing they had semi-automatics. In other words, they got these guns illegally. Need to root out how they got these guns and put all of those people away for life as well.
The shotgun photo looks like a long barrell under & over, sports shooting style. In one image you can see shotgun cartridges on the ground and two guys with shotgun cartridge belts. I don’t know if you can get semi auto shotguns
Anyway, that's off topic. My heart breaks for all those who are victims of this senseless act of hatred and violence. I hope all the injured recover and I wish for peace for the families of those killed.
Pacifism doesn't work as you can't stop evil or violence -- with us until the sun is a red giantUnfortunately you'd have to eradicate all humans to achieve that dream.
This x 1,000. How ****ing difficult is this to understand? Treat others kindly regardless of their beliefs.ALL racism and bigotry needs to be erased from the human mindset. What does it achieve?
This. This is the shit that racism and bigotry leads to.
What areas have gotten lax?We need more gun control, the laws have gotten too lax in a number of areas.
A religion based on the teachings of the Jesus of the synoptic gospels would be amazing, but most Christianity is built on the teachings of Paul.Nobody said anything about giving up but at the same time, we need to accept reality.
Without going too far down a rabbit hole not related to this incident, look at how hard the early Christians tried to preach the message of Jesus, as an example. So many were 'martyred' for their beliefs by tyrannical government who didn't want people getting the idea in their heads that all are equal and worthy of respect and dignity. Then of course, it became the appointed religion and ended up like all the others throughout history.
Anyway, that's way off topic.
TLDR - be kind to others but accept the reality that they won't always be kind to you in turn.
Na it's a tube mag. Good chance it's a lever action or straight pull. The shotgun photo looks like a long barrell under & over, sports shooting style.
I don't believe semi-automatic shotguns are legal in Australia.
Time to gtfo of here.

There would be a police presence but not one equipped to deal with 2 active gunmen at a moments notice. To be honest I am surprised it lasted so long as there are always police at Bondi Beach. I am surprised they did not respond in less than a few minutes.
I thought they were banned here. Genuinely shocked to find out you can still get them.It isn’t too difficult to get a semi automatic license. Living in a rural area I know dozens that have them
I'm a little more optimistic than this. I think these days we hear and see everything due to even poor people in the world having cameras. I shudder to think what happened in dark corners of the world decades ago.We haven't progressed in the 50+ years since.
Yeah, unfortunately the best bits were plucked out in the end, as they didn't suit the power hungry leaders as a national religion at the time.A religion based on the teachings of the Jesus of the synoptic gospels would be amazing, but most Christianity is built on the teachings of Paul.
The synoptic gospels are amazing, but the rest does absolutely nothing for me and I struggle to comprehend why Christians continue to regard anything after John as relevant.
