Too early for the mid-priced madness genius thread?

Sam Flanders
Hayden Young
Nic Newman

Likely started for me fitness depending (nor sure how Young and Newman are tracking)

Flanders and Young easy picks

Soon to be 33 year old Newman over 400k just missed the season pass for me
I didn’t realise Newman was that old

Looks like his didn’t debut at AFL level until he was well into his 20s and has only play 120 odd games so maybe is body has a bit less wear and tear than some other 33yo?

I had him high on my watchlist but at 440k I can't justify it especially with Kerch/Bergman/Rivers as guys with higher upside around the price pending roles

Bit of an odd one regarding his price, this season he was $546k priced at 109, yet his previous 2 seasons he went at ~100. This year priced at 81 which is around the 30% discount applied to 109.

Maybe I'm missing something? Still around 20pts upside but not a keeper at 100

He’s only averaged 100 twice in his career given his injury and age there’s no reason to suggest he goes back to that

Carlton were desperate for his type this year, no Doc, 100 in each of the 2 previous seasons. I think that there's every chance he could hit those numbers, role will tell.

This was what I was thinking — no Doc probably means a good role for Newman as long as he’s fully fit

ridley kiddie..
georgie hayden harley darcy and ollie.
big sean..
sammy jordy lawlah and kai.

Role is going to be there, it’s just the durability factor. At that price point McKercher seems more enticing, and if Bergman does continue in that midfield role, I like him more. Plus Newman has the extra bye too.

Houston could definitely be one to keep an eye on with an extra pre season with Collingwood plus the possibility that Josh Daicos plays some more time in the middle, but again extra bye which is annoying..
