Match Thread Season 02, Round 1: West Gate Trolls (WGT) vs Qoalas Qricket Club (QQC) at Spotswood Oval

Welcome back to the second season of the Sweet Cricket Association. Big thank you to boncer34 for running the competition last season and we are all looking forward to another bumper summer coming up!

The West Gate Trolls (5th) are playing host to the Qoalas Qricket Club (W) at Spotswood Oval to kick off Season 2. Both teams are under new leadership, with the Trolls being taken over by Proper Gander and the Qoalas led out by The Half Back. Both teams will be asking for some early season points for Christmas with the One Day game played on Friday 26th December and the Test Match played early this week on Saturday 27th (due to the match poster being at the Boxing Day Test on day 3).

Home team to select their sides and pitches by midnight Wednesday 24th December. Away team to select their side by midnight Thursday 25th December. One Day Match to be posted on Friday 26th December and Test Match to be posted on Saturday 27th December.

I’m over Christmas BIG TIME

Don’t like wrapping presents. I’m never buying anything for anyone again that doesn’t have a uniform, rectangular shape. Or maybe I’m not buying anything for anyone again as long as I live. The whole lot look like scrunched boulders made by a blind sculptor. I tried to stick some ribbon around them to draw the eye away from a disaster area. Stretch ate the ribbon, opened one of the gifts and put fang marks on the present. Ron Barassi smashed the sticky tape holder and shredded the leftover paper. One of them spewed on an office chair. I departed for the pub.

Monday is my usual shopping day and **** me it's crazy out there compared with last week - last week it was "pick your park", and this week it's a case of doing laps until you see someone's reverse lights go on... Can't wait until next week when things return to a level of normality

And totally agree with you about presents - I'm almost at the stage now where if I need to buy a gift for someone, they'll get a gift card that can be placed in an envelope with a card


The pub seems the best place to be at this time of year
