Newsom’s now looking at the presidency and isn’t going for another gubernatorial term so I think that point’s somewhat moot because there’s 100% better options federally than him. California’s very much has the Democrats in the pocket of Silicon Valley, but there have been people who’ve been good at points (Barbara Lee was the one member of the entire US Congress to vote against Bush’s blank cheque War on Terror, which she deserves credit for, though she’s a bit old to be the future). Certainly Ro Khanna now, playing such a leading role in the release of the Epstein files, has taken the fight to Trump in a material way few others have.

I’ve been binge watching Homeland over the last couple of weeks, so have had a lot of Patinkin in my living room.

At the moment (start of series 7, still mourning the death of Peter Quinn) he’s sitting in a federal jail as an out of control, paranoid POTUS crushes civil rights, albeit for reasons rather different to the current POTUS.

it's an all-encompassing term for oligarchs, i would have thought. not merely the stock market. and includes cypto. which the megalomaniac has used effectively to rip folks off and enrich himself. scaramucci, whose wealth fund is crypto-based, has commented widely on the dangers and scams.
