How about:

OUT Moore, Pendles
IN Parker, Anderson (debut)

I like Anderson's "never take a backward step" approach. Against the Lions, in Brisbane, we might need that hard edge. Unfortunately, Allan just doesn't seem able to bring the necessary physicality, despite me really wanting him to succeed.
why not, we know what we'll get from Allan. don't forget about Sully either, no A grader but can't remember him ever letting us down

While I'm a big fan of Parker, I think he as James Aish traits, we need the grunt out of the middle. Stop their forward flows at the source.
I think Anderson could soon develop to become our answer to a Weddle type. He's played senior footy, so the bigger bodies won't be an issue. He'll bring leadership traits and strait ahead running.
Whilst I agree with the anderson assessment, I disagree with the parker and aish link. Parker is a far better defender than aish, and we will need his defense against the lions mids and small forwards.

It was fantastic to see the Goo spend more time around clearances and his attacking intention internally.

CFC will win or lose this game against Brisbane depending on how they perform at clearances. If CFC doesn't defend their opponent around clearances and doesn't score them selves from clearances CFC will get flogged again.

The key benefit of having Steene in the side is that we don't need to put as much effort into our defensive work at the centre ball up - the introduction of Steene has introduced a damaging offensive side to our centre set up. Both as a direct result of his centre work, but also by allowing Cameron to ruck against the opposition's 2nd ruck.

The other side of this is that our opponents will need to put in extra work to combat our new found centre offensive capability, and this is something that changes the standard "how to beat the pies plan" and it will be interesting to see how the Lions approach this game.

With Gardiner doubtful and Answorth out, the Lions would take some more hits defensively and with a 5 day turnaround (coupled with limited interchange for all of the last quarter where the Lions needed a big effort), we could start as favourites for this game.

Hope not. Parker is ass

Allan and Cochran for me.

If not Cochran, Buller in and McStay to CHB.
I think Parker is one of the better prospects we have
He’s aggressive with and without the ball
He can play
Just needs continuity at senior level

agree with Sully, I like that he can kick the occasional goal too. not sure about Buller though, think we only play two talls forward with Oscar in the side now.
Especially in Brisbane this time of year where it's likely to have a heavy dew - two talls with Oscar and Cameron sharing time forward.

Parker is a lock and based on what I saw of the VFL, Allen for me as he performed much better than Sully.

Tight turn this week.

In: Parker and Sullivan

Parker is the 24th man currently and what we saw v GWS was our best 23 so easy. He’ll slide into the back half and I don’t think our back 7 will be too disrupted (you’d obviously prefer Darcy’s intercept game, ball use, experience and leadership).

Replacing Pendles is where the discussion will be this week and I think they go like for like. Sullivan can do a bit of everything through the middle and forward be it head over the ball, as an outlet or a connector and most importantly he’s clean which will be a big factor up there this time of year.

I’d like to drop Long who’s given us 2/5 of **** all outside of pressing the ball carrier and getting caught with the ball, but Anderson hasn’t done enough. Allan was dreadful across the first two matches and would have been dropped even if we didn’t have Howe and Moore returning so going back to him after one week makes no sense to me. West could be an option if they want to juggle Steene’s minutes more this week as the 5th man on the bench, but I doubt they go that way after the success v GWS. The main reason this is an option for me is that I query Steene’s ability to back it up against two big experienced rucks so I’m not expecting much from him this week, but they’ll go again on it which I’m perfectly fine with given he needs exposure and it’s the likely 2026 structure. They could also pick Hayes and push Shoota higher up the field with Crisp folding back, but I don’t think Hayes did enough.

I’d be giving Perryman a role this week on Neale. Without McCluggage if you lock Neale away it heaps a lot on to Ashcroft with Dunkley likely going to Nick at stoppage. It’s winnable, especially with no Andrews , but we can’t afford to be playing a transition game because we’ve been touched up at stoppage as we were the first fortnight.

so you've dropped Steene and Perryman , brought back buller, picked Cochrane for debut. Named Lipinski at halfback and running a 4 man bench
Jonah Hill Ok GIF

In one of Sully's early games, he threw the ball to a pie player rather than the umpire and gave away a 50m penalty.
Half the forum was after his blood but now, happily, everyone loves him.

drugs are bad for you

Parker to replace Moore.. Parker is a tough nut, and he defends grimly. Fits perfectly into our team defence system.

Allan to replace Pendles. Allan was very good in the VFL, so it makes sense from this standpoint to select him.

I don't agree with those who have written him off as a slow decision maker or whatever. Give him one position to play, the one we wanted him for - inside mid.

Brisbane's midfield is weakened by absence of McLuggage, but is still very strong.
Will be a significant test for him.

We have to make a final decision on Allan very soon, but now is too soon.

Pendles not to replace Fly, but to be right next to him on the bench giving him advice.

Perryman & Steene are no chance of being dropped, period.

Agree with your comment about only needing two forwards with OS in the team.
I've only seen one game of footy this year so basically NFI how 5 on the bench influences selection 😂. I like West and Buller as prospects though, if they dominate for a few weeks in the 2s it might be fun to see how three tall forward and two rucks go

I seem to recall Parker did well on Charlie Cameron last time
