I haven't watched a lot of WBBL so I'm not familiar on female cricket commentators outside of Isa, Mel Jones and Alyssa Healy, who I like all to different degrees.

Healy has been a breath of fresh air and hopefully will take over from Jones who is probably dated now and with TV they do move the older ones on and everyone knows Alyssa so be good for ratings.
I just find it interesting when the Women's cricket is on there are no male commentators , but with the men there's always a female , happy to have Isa and Healy going forward . I also much prefer the Women's cricket watching to the footy , but they had a head start

Really enjoy watching the Australian Women Cricket team. They have a number of brilliant players and they still play with old school techniques. No Bazball silliness or slogging. Just pure stroke play in all formats.

Yes, but a subset of all commentators are female, a subset all have black hair, a subset are Victorian etc etc, no problem comparing any of those things within their own subset. In a sport, say triathlon, is there an issue in comparing all the female triathletes with each other………there is no problem in doing this . Seems a bit of unnecessary sensitivity to me.

And we now know our final opponent in the group stage. Turkey, who on paper are a big challenge.

Mind boggling they couldn't make it, even with more teams.

Happy Sweden got in. Gives me an extra team with ancestral ties to "support" (have 5 at this WC plus NZ gets some default love) . Sad Ireland didn't make it.

Was hoping for Kosovo in our group. Interesting group with no guaranteed winners or losers. If we show the grit of last time, might get through.

Just disappointed Goodwin got injured and wasn't in great form for us anyway (AUFC). Would have liked to see him get one more WC.

In fairness Europe only got 3 more teams this time. But I agree it's still remarkable that they haven't qualified for the last 3 WC's

I agree with you on our group, all 4 teams could easily top the group. Tho we need Bos, Irankunda, Circati and Mo Toure on top form. And I hope Popa doesn't park the bus all the time.

I liked Herrington in these two games, he has great attributes and I don't recall him being beaten or flustered once in either match. Rare for a young CB.

Shame that Goodwin won't be there, he could still do a job rotating on either wing.

Don't think anyone's claimed we're world beaters. Certainly not me. We can only play what's in front of us, and a lot of the West Asian teams are awkward to play in their conditions with all the travel our players do. I think several of our younger players have more quality than all our post 2006 side tho.

Idk why you're sticking your neck out for Italy of all teams tho They were a football powerhouse decades ago. Missing 3 world cups in a row now, they're just not that good. Speak to any Italian, they'll say it. Sort of like Australia's decline in Rugby.

And especially considering the Socceroos history with them. They've been riddled by corruption and mismanagement since 2006. Calciopoli happened at that time. And they fluked that Euro 2021 win, as much as I enjoyed seeing the Poms get beat in the final.
