Ian Coutts "Whitnall not gone yet"

Ian Coutts, i think he is our communications manager just came out and said on SEN that no official decision has been made on Lance Whitnall's future yet?

While no decision's been made yet, Ricky Nixon, his manager, was just on SEN. He said they met with Ratts, icke etc... yesterday morning to discuss his future. His medical report wasn't that good and he can only train once a week. Ratts and Icke think that really can't happen at AFL level. So, to me, although no decison's been made yet I'd say it's likely Lance will be "retired". Hopefully he'll stay in the club in some capacity.

Well didn't they come out and say last night that the medical was fine but we sacked him anyway? Trying to make Carlton the bad guy again.

It was a pre-emptive strike by Nixon. The report is not great, he says that Whitnall has been sacked hoping the club is bombarded by calls from concerned supporters and thus circumventing any official announcement.

Ricky Nixon said 3AW today that he was sacked,no two ways about it,he is filthy about the way it was leaked to the media, most likely from inside Carlton.

The report last night also said that the report was fine. Now we are hearing it is not very good. Someone is telling porkies to justify their side of things.

If the report says that Lance can not train, I am afraid he has to pull the pin. Lance is the last person that can afford not to train.

I certainly won't be one of those people calling the club telling them to retain Whitnall. The game has passed him by, and if he still can't get his body right after being in the AFL for this long, then he should be shown the door.

What is this, primary school? He has had chance after chance to lose weight and stay in shape, and time and time again he lets the club down. The club has been too leniant towards him, and he should of been traded off years ago. Thank God Swann doesn't have the boys club mentality and wants the club to move forward with the rest of the competition.
