I'd like to see him being played in the midfield. Imo he should be the one we're all talking about at the moment, but due to his average disposal by foot and inconsistency, he hasn't exactly set the world on fire.

Most common quote from people who just quote what others say.
Walker in his first year had some issues which were addressed over the subsequent seasons.
His disposal issues have been ironed out but peoples inability to move on has not.
He has been used as a tagger and stopper since there was no one else in the team even mildly capable of doing this.
He has played on the best player in the opposition team every week for two years from Andrew Mcloud, Goodes, etc.
He is without doubt the most uderated player in the carlton Guernsey and one of the most underated in the league, Is constantly bagged and yet when you actually judge him on his merits rather than preconsepctions he is one of teh best 21 year olds in the game.
Given the opportunity he will be in the top five for our club, if not top 3.

I'm as big a fan as any - and his disposal/decision making was at a high mid-season when he was playing with confidence. Unfortunately, on returning from injury both these dropped - whether due to confidence or shoulder issues who knows. Most common quote from people who just quote what others say.

Agree, very frustrating. Needs to play on instinct.I think it's Walker's decision making that is more of a problem rather than his actual footskills.
He is a terribly frustrating player to watch ...he has great pace and the leap of a gazelle ..but his disposal is still not up to AFL standard ...he has improved slightly in this area but still needs lots and lots of work .

Watch this and come back and tell me he is not up to AFL. Remember two things while watching this, first, he has been playing a tagging, run-with, negating type role for three years as he "learned the game" under Pagan. He has not been given the opportunity to go into an attacking, mid field role capacity where he can showcase his natural game. Also remember he is 21. Again so you don't forget this, 21.

Mate I agree he is a star, the footage of his debut game is awesome.
The interview at the end is priceless too.![]()
Damaging as in costing us a goal every time he turns it over?We need to use him in the same way Adelaide use Andrew Mcleod where he can be totally damaging with his run off half back.
Audas I think you are wrong for criticising people suggesting his disposal isn't great. I personally don't think it is bad but he is prone to making the odd terrible kick or decision that will cost us one or two times a game. His disposal has improved every year however and it won't be long before it is no longer an issue for him. He will be an elite player in the competition within a couple years time, such a gun!

Might have only kicked 24 goals in his career, but he has put through some absolute rippers.![]()
