In order, who would you say are the three greatest players in our club's great history ..
Here is mine
1 - John Nicholls (says it all really, big Nick was the heart and soul of all our famous premiership wins in the 70's, had a massive heart and IMHO the greatest ruckman of all time)
2 - Bruce Doull (Perhaps a surprising choice to come, but I do feel that Doull is sadly a very underrated and underappreciated player in the history of football, certainly the greatest CHB ever in VFL/AFL history.
He was just consistent, I never saw him play (before my time sadly) but from what I'm led to believe, he never played a bad game in his life.
I think the fact he is a very quiet fellow and hardly said anything in public since he retired from football only adds to his mystique and legend
3 -Stephen Kernahan (greatest ever captain at Carlton, and a true legendary figure for the modern day Carlton ... Had the greatest mullet ever seen, but also one of the best overhead/pack marks I've ever seen play the game.
Really made an icon out of the No 4 jumper, and was the type of player and captain, that other players would walk over glass for ...
BTW apologies to Jezza, but I feel though that kinda the saga at the end of the George harris era, and his transfer to St.Kilda tainted his legacy slightly, he would almost be in the top 3, but it hurted to know how his playing career ended in such distasteful way at the time ...
You could put so many other names though, and they wouldn't be wrong either, so many champions this club has produced.
