Ive heard this over 1000 times by mates, people on Bigfooty, and relative and really Ive had enough of it.

We will be good next year anyway beause the likes of Waite, murphy, gibbs, walker, ohailpin, bentick eill become more consistent therefore our side will be better. Also our backline will get better as our younger kids will get stronger.

We will play well this year and everybody that we talk footy about from oppositions eill say we are only good because of Judd

Does anyone else cop "you'll only be good because of Judd"
 
I dont cop it really. If we didn't land Judd I probably wouldn't be as excited about the coming season.. he is going to make a massive difference at training and on match day, hopefully he will fast track alot of our young boys. We still would be happy with our list without Judd but having a name like that down there is massive.
 
Who doesnt...I've learnt to ignore it, I will wait ill we shove cream pies into the likes of Richmond, Essendon and Collingwood.

Same , i dont cop it either . people just say Carlton are shite , i ignore that notion . Without Judd , 11-12th would be my guess for the end of '08. With Judd , and the off field pluses that come with him , i think we can push for the final 8 . I Still would've got my membership regardless , but Judd is the icing on the cake for '08 .:D
 
Couldn't agree with you more. We've got to remember that there will be 21 other guys our there other than Judd and it will take all of them to win the match.
However, with developing young players as well as good recruiting and also getting Stevens back from injury, i think that our team will be much improved from last year.
 
You simply need to be patient my friend. Soon enough the talent of the likes of Gibbs, Hampson, Murphy, Kruezer and the gang will hit these morons right between the eyes! :D:thumbsu:
 
I wouldn't concern myself with it too much. Most likely they are the same people who are saying one guy doesn't make a team or one guy won't win you premiership.

Opposition supporters will find some way to denegrate any improvement we have and will be happy to migrate from viewpoint to viewpoint to justify their reasoning.

Personally I don't care if Judd is the guy who makes us good, that's why we gave a lot to recruit him. As long as we're beating the opposition, I won't be worrying about the bleats coming from their supporters.

Personally I couldnt give a rats a##e for the reason, but if they consider us good thats good enough for me (especially seeing that we haven't even played a game yet!!).

Opposition supporters will always talk about the Blues so let it be positive talk instead of negative.
 
Look at it from our perspective though. You have ppl like Parrot saying we were only good BECAUSE of Judd and a lot of others said the same. I have full faith in us being a top 4 contender for this year. Having said that though, if you're good next year, it won't really be because of JUDD, as great as he is. It'll be because of your playing group as a whole. One player doesn't make that big of a difference, even HIM. I'm sure your whole group will improve as you have some great kids. Judd will have a great influence, I'm sure, just don't forget to mention us in your next premiership speech ;)

o_O You convinced me. I am Jealous beyond belief. Why oh why isnt Judd with the Tigers this year. With Judd on our side, It does not matter about the rest of the squad! We would have won the premiership of 2008 already it has already started :'(
 
I get crap about it daily. They way that they say "Your only gonna' be good with Judd" is as though I've said those words from my mouth. Honestly, I really couldn't care less if Judd were at Carlton or not at the moment. He hasn't exactly proven himself at the club, so when people beleive that we're going to jump on the Judd tram, and accept a free ride to success, their dead wrong.

It's not just Judd.... not just a massive array of young talent that should start to hit their straps... What about a young innovative coach that has the respect of his team?

Bee, With all respect, It is not others that bring on this sense of feeling from Carlton... The amount of Judd threads how he is going to do this and that... They are what bring it on.

I can't see why you have a problem with that. It's the Carlton board of course there are going to be a lot threads talking about Carlton players and Judd happens to be a Carlton player now. Remember how he rejected Richmond and chose Carlton?

I certainly remember it. Im not really too fussed to be perfectly honest. In saying that I do respect he is one of the best players in the league, so I do not need to hear about that either.

The whole thing with me having a problem with all the Judd talk, is that its not just contained to the Carlton board, its spammed over the tigers board and over the main AFL board. Before I get insulted about having a sook about either of these boards, I would never have brought up that issue if you hadnt said that. But when I hear about how good Judd will be for Carlton 100 times in 30 days, of course it is going to start annoying me... It also shows me that quite few Carlton fans seem to have forgotten about the rest of the Carlton team since Judd moved in.

As I have said, I am not coming here trolling, I am just interested in knowing why half Carlton's supporters think that Judd is the solution to all Carlton's onfield issues
