Im not clear on the cat B rookie rules. But, if bayok only wanted to come to west coast, is it possible that he can just pass on the national and rookie drafts and we pick him up as a cat B afterwards?
Don't you just love it how they make vague rules so they can "interpret" it the way they want when it suits them. I guarantee you if that was anyone but the Hawks/JOM, it would have been shut down.
Those guys are all 25 already is sounding pretty scary haha and not in a good way. We should really be making big moves in the finals with most of the team in their prime. If it takes us another couple of years to fix the problems we're only going to have 1-2 years where we are a serious chance...
Thats the exact reason that SPP is better than Taranto (at least in terms of our list). We have enough composed, good kicking mids (sheed, Duggan). What we are missing is the powerful and explosive mid. Dangerfields kicking skills aren't all that great, but when you emerge from the centre and...
The thing is if they had their heart set on Bolton from the start they could've traded out pick 12 for a couple of second rounders and got both him and another mid. I think Bolton might be the fall back option. We kept pick 12 in the case of some sliders, if not then Bolton will be picked.
That was this years plan wasn't it? Mackenzie was the supposed missing piece of the puzzle and once we had a genuine lock down defender back in we were favourites for the flag. Or so the story goes :P
If that's the case then why bother with petrie. We might as well bring in a 23 yo ruckman from a state league or a rookie 18 year old. If our rucks stocks get majorly hit to the point we have to use our 4th in line, we're in pretty serious trouble anyway. Petrie won't save this so why not bring...
Wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones that came up with it. Don't they go into mediation of they can't agree to a deal? Everything the AFL do now days is to save their own reputation and for theatre and money. Can't have a big name not getting to his destination in trade period. Better to...
If anything, this was the draft to throw everything in and maximise picks. Trading out next years first rounder for multiple picks etc. The players we draft this year can develop and by the time our older players retire in 2-3 years, the 2016 draftees are ready to go straight away. 3 picks in...
So everyone traded to benefit Hawks and try to get the deal through? Weird how those two traded picks for no reason other than to trade a second rounder to Hawks
We could be in a similar boat at the end of next year. Lecca, prid, Mitchell (if he doesn't play for 2), might be able to trade eMac if he gets some form back next year (not sure on his contract, maybe out of contract?). We're a possibility to have a huge amount of space next year to make a play...
Was more getting at contested ability. Priddis and Mitchell are similar in that they rely a lot on sidesteps and footwork to make space. Against a team that floods the contest that becomes a lot harder to do. Mitchell and JOM aren't fast but they have more to them. S Mitchell will bring a lot...
Clarkson knows what he's doing letting all these older guys go. They knew t Mitchell and JOM were coming a couple of months ago.
There's more to it than just the salary cap (although that's a big part of it). When they resigned the older guys, there would have been plans in place and they...
