Without getting into a priddis bash im sure we can agree that you cant have pridd and mitchell in the centre square at the same time.

Now is the perfect time to play two cement trucks at the fall. I'd back one of Priddis or Mitchel to get first hands 60-70% of every stoppage and Priddis is also the best tackler in the competition - good luck winning clean breaks! Reminds me of the Ratten / Williams dynamic during Carltons great era in the mid 90's with Gaff our Bradley and Shuey our Kouta X factor..

If Petrie is being brought in on the rookie list I'm guessing he wont play at all and is only there in case of a major injury.
If that's the case then why bother with petrie. We might as well bring in a 23 yo ruckman from a state league or a rookie 18 year old. If our rucks stocks get majorly hit to the point we have to use our 4th in line, we're in pretty serious trouble anyway. Petrie won't save this so why not bring in a rookie ruck to give them some experience, and actually do something productive with the list spot rather than waste it on a 1 year stop gap. The one year that petrie wastes on the list could be the one year of experience a rookie ruck misses out on

Double whammy - if hawthorn get nothing out of him they lol as they had them pay good coin.

They make essendon miss out

And hawthorn no doubt owe them a big favour
I wonder if it has anything to do with Carlton's feeder club, the Giants.

The sam mitchell thread?

The : How much shorter can sam mitchell be played thread (id say till about 5'4" myself)

Wrong tread?

Matthew Allen yo
I don't consider him a pure tall forward. Don't really know what he is just yet and despite the club showing enough faith in him to extend his contract into 2018 I'm not convinced he's going to make it

Still has plenty of time to develop so I hope I'm wrong - he's a fantastic kick at goal especially from around 50

I dare say if we pick Powell Pepper then he will play. I think WC take too long to blood players these days, but that's a different story.
Yes, SPP would be capable of contributing straight away, not sure he'd make the best 22 tho. I'm curoius, as his testing suggests there are other aspects to his game that could be developed to round out and enhance his game (beep test, clean hands, goal kicking)! He's got huge boot, so HFF would be a good starting point.

As for drafting, it's always a 10yr proposition. Some blokes will contribute straight away (see Darling), some will take a while to settle in a cement themselves (see Schoey). The key is not to miss on your top 30 picks because that sets you back 3-4 years in just seeing if they can be contributors.

This even goes to the Mackenzie thing. Why the **** are we keeping a 600k back up. FML

McKenzie = nobody wanted to bring him in and pay his $600k salary?

Because he was contracted? Because he won the club champion award two years ago and is coming back from a knee injury? Because there's every chance he might find his pre-knee form?

Plus what KOKO said?

Yeah no shit, neither do we. So we should have looked at ways of offloading it. Paying some of it to get the deal done should have been explored. We better either a) re-sign him dirt cheap next year or b) let the mother ****er walk and sign a free agent/bring someone in via trade.

Who's to say it wasn't explored?

Not every chance. There's a little chance he does that. I think it's a safe bet that he'll be the highest ever paid wafl player next season. I say 15 games min of WAFL barring injury. He could probably pay the match payments for East Perth and the 22 blokes he plays each week and still walk away as the highest paid WAFL player. FML.

Pretty common for players to struggle the first year back off a knee recon. You're writing him off far too soon.
