it's not a "merge with us or die" situation, it's the fact that North didn't have to merge. sure there were benefits to a merge, and in hindsight, it probably would've been a fantastic outcome for both clubs both in the short and long term, but we were in a position to put up a fight for our own...

respectfully to the old Roy Boys, we had the upper hand. Our club wasn't going to fall off the face of the Earth if a merge didn't go through. if we wanted to keep the kangaroo, we were gonna keep the kangaroo.
That's a good point and i'd be happy to be proven wrong but I don't see what NB gain in sponsoring the blind/ indoor/ etc teams to justify the effort. if it was a smaller company, like ISC or BLK or something i'd think you're probably right but I don't see NB being content with anything less...

Asics finally gone, announcement would probably come shortly after this Sri Lanka T20 series, or right before home summer.
If they wanna stick with the big logo, bringing back the wave full time isn't a bad call, genuinely a cracking, original jumper that if I was a GC fan I would love to see them win a flag in. Tinker with the colours and logo and it's up there with best home jumpers in the league.
