Athletics are banned completely, the ioc still has to decide on the rest of them.

Surely if their athletics team are systematicly doping it's not like everyone else will be clean

IOC wimped out and left it up to the individual sporting bodies, some of which clearly have more balls than the others (and more than the IOC).

Several sports seem to be requiring that a clear, recent test must have been done at a facility outside of Russia. (I remember reading that 22 of the 28 Russian rowers got dumped on this criteria).

Probably a topic for another thread though, I just bumped it so we could hopefully catch a few more participants.

I'm in if not to late

Mischief managed.

What is the surprise added element of this version of Olympic games?

It's the use of Random.Org which will determine who will represent you in certain events. These representatives will assist in accruing medals for your minnow nations.

For example:

The 100m spring is going to take place. I punch in everyones names who wants to play into random.org and they each get an athlete that will run for them. Person A gets Usain Bolt. Person B gets Osafa Powell. Person C gets Tyson Gay. Person D gets Yohan Blake. From there. The race is run and won - Blake gets the Gold, Bolt the Silver and Gay the Bronze. Person D gets the 3 points for the Gold Medal. Person A gets 2 points for the Silver and person C gets 1 point for the Bronze. Everyones medal tallies continue on thorough teh Olympic and the athletes that represent the.

Does this make sense or....?

Depending on how many numbers we get here, we are currently at 20 or so, we may see some countries sharing a representative.

So if I get Jamaica, with Bolt one of the few things going for me, when the event comes up, a bunch of others will get to share him, reducing my capacity to gloat and generally lord it over everyone? Meh.

Maybe 'just' give out athletes in major events when they're from (minnow?) countries that aren't taken.

For the 100m spring i want dis bird...... spring.jpg

So, you saying we get 2 minnow countries for whole limpics AND reps in each event, maybe not from minnow?

That is a good point. I'll make a ruling on that afterwards. Most likely if they're from representing minnow nations they wi ll have exclusive rights to them.

I've edited it to 4 countries as minnows need love as well. Exactly right. You will also have some reps who are not from minnow country to cheer on for.
