Crime stats have long been fiddled. As have unemployment numbers and inflation. Even worse is education stats.
Totes magotes . Just like in London, crime stats are a lie. 100% of Muslims commit crimes #medusalalogic

Police crime figures being manipulated, admits chief inspector

Tom Winsor tells Commons committee that question of whether officers are fiddling data is 'where, how much, how severe'

Ahem.

Let me just point out the obvious flaw in your argument.

"Accused"

The #medusalalogic court. You're guilty until proven innocent. Unless you're a card carrying conservative.

I know someone who went to the Dandenong Police Station to report that he witnessed drugs being sold at Dandenong Train Station. The police told him to mind his own business.

Was that recorded?

Why would they record that? Without evidence as far as they know the person could be talking s**t to get someone they don't like in trouble.

Is it possible to fiddle them upwards as well as downwards?

Maybe the cops were selling or buying as part of a larger 'sting' operation? Or were already just watching to take note of chains-of-contact? Dunno why anyone would sell at a train station though, the things are absolutely bristling with CCTV cameras these days.

So I get the vibe, sensationalism from a well known rabble rousing rag is to be taken seriously, but actual statistics have to be questioned incessantly.

The only thing which happens with pollies going into a law n order auction is erosion of civil liberties

I hear traffic offences will have an extra levy to compensate victims of crime

Don’t they raise enough revenue already?

The Labor government is considering such a scheme. I think it's bullshit as traffic fines are mostly revenue raisers making criminals of generally law abiding people. The opposition is proposing that the plan would only tax those convicted of serious crimes not minor infringements.

As a victim of a recent crime I have made a claim under VOCAT but the schedule of amounts is quite low. It will not pay for the measures that I have taken to give me the peace of mind to sleep at night or re-secure my car. The Victorian government is rolling in money at the moment and could easily properly fund the scheme without raising speeding fines.

That might be the case.

They actively discouraged him from reporting anything.

Another situation happen to another friend of mine.

He was driving in Dandenong where he was stopped by a shirtless man who jumped in front of his car. Then shouting at my friend telling him that he does belong here and ripping his front reg plate off. Continued to abuse my friend.

My friend decided to call the cops and after one hour no police came. He then decided to drive off put the shirtless man at risk of being hit.

Now the shirtless man clearly had mental issues but the fact the police didn't come, will result in no report being made.

Nice Saturday night last night, warm weather. I went out for dinner with some friends.

Not all heroes wear capes.

You know it's weird. I reckon more people are out at night than ever before in Melbourne. With White Night next weekend, we will see a city filled with close to a million people at night. Happens every year.

Itd be interesting to see the growth in revenue raising via minor traffic offences under the lib or lab gvt here in victoria. I believe revenues flatlined recently

Seems you need to be white and have slaughtered an entire third world village to even interest police these days.

Stabbings, home invasions, and bashings in suburbia are so 2017.
