Don't think we'll see Garthwaite in the JLT despite the clubs willingness to get him in. Most recent reports have him struggling with an ankle injury for quite some time? Hopefully I'm reading too much into it and it's not that bad.

Jeez, hadn't heard that. No good! Hopefully his back on track soon and doesn't suffer the dreaded "interrupted pre-season"

Richmond already tweeted Cotch is unavailable for the AFLX tournament (thank god!) wonder how long it’ll be before other clubs do the same for their stars.

AFLX is a little tricky. I don't see me having a lot of investment in The Deadly, The Rampage, The Bolts or The Flyers (the 4 AFLX teams), but at the same time I wouldn't be that invested in an 18-team AFL competition with conferences of 6 where teams are only playing their youth either.

The only time AFLX would be interesting is if all teams buy into it and play their best players. Clubs probably won't do that because, well, why would they, so now we are left with an awkward arrangement where you have 4 teams with 8 passionate players (the captains and vice-captains who are all from different teams) and 4 teams that no AFL team's supporters have a reason to fully resonate with since there are players in each team from all over the place.

They are stuck with having quality players in teams that AFL supporters do not relate to, or teams that AFL supporters relate to without most of the top end players of the AFL participating. Looks like a lose-lose situation for the AFLX format at the moment.
If you put $20 up for the winning team, norf will be all over it.

Jack has chosen Cripps as his Vice Captain
Danger has chosen Hodge
Fyfe has chosen The Bont
Betts has chosen Burgoyne (I think Sheds & rioli will also be on this team)

A live draft will be held in early February, where the four captains will build the rest of their side from a 100-strong pool of AFL talent, with a limit of four players eligible from each of the clubs.

They should have to draft every player (all 700+) into their squads, just so we can tell who is 'The fat, useless kid who always gets picked last'.

Surely there are only 10 or so in a team. With 4 teams, total of 40 players. Thats 2-3 from each club. With Jack, add Menadue and Balta. Done.
There's 8 on the ground, 6 on the bench, so 14 per team, 56 in total

Which reminds me, wasn't the 'X' supposed to be representative of the 10 players on a team?

Now its how hocking signs off on documents because he is too hopped up on goofballs to remember how to spell his own name

So this "draft" is predetermined?

I think there is an element of that.

Or captains have leaked it.

The draft was done this afternoon (after his tweet) but it's being televised at 7pm tonight so no one is allowed to say anything until then apparently
