Port Adelaide BF where the chaff is given more importance than the wheat.

Eh, let’s run out in Reebok’s brown guernseys, have co-captains wearing 96 and 119, allow the media refer to us as Port Power FC and wait for Liverpool to indirectly produce our promotional content for us.

We have bigger things to worry about.

Like finding the better portion of $3,000,000 to pay the senior coach over the next 3 years to cement our status as mediocre pretenders.

Or in-house marketing departments. They thought they could cover their tracks by running it through Google voice translation twice to get rid of Klopp's accent. They would've got away with it if it wasn't for you pesky kids.

A guy on Reddit put the national anthem through Google translate a few times and the result is sublime.

I've just done the same with the Creed.

———

We play the players and management of the football club, Port Adelaide, with the heritage transferred by the players and administrators to us. In this way we do not want to stay dormant, but we strive to promote the non-competitive results of the club.

To achieve this, we believe that there is a lot of merit and noble results getting the Central Loan.

In order to succeed, all of us must be active, aggressive and committed to that goal. We agree that the success is in our direction and we are confident that all staff and management will be sold to achieve a common goal.

We also know if we try to bring each other together, we will not succeed and we will be part of the club's viable tradition.

After all, we know that defeat can be an honor, but our club and jumper can only happen when the person in the field is completely exhausted.

"we strive to promote the non-competitive results of the club"

I'm dead.

Not sure IP protection is available for an advert, happy to be proven wrong however.

Under Australian law, ownership rights are automatically assigned to the creator. Whether it's an artwork, a film, a sculpture, a design or an advert. This is regardless of, and separate to, any artistic merit contained within the work.

Most professional creators will assign/transfer these rights to the commissioner of the work, for a fee. It's a legal quirk of our system that you cannot give away these rights, they have to be transferred via a consideration (ie a fee). This can be $5 or $5000, or any other value that the creator and commissioner agree to.

Designers will usually assign usage rights but maintain moral rights to their work.

tl;dr IP protection is automatic in Australia.

Tbf "we are on our beach" makes a lot more sense than "our home is girt by sea".

Maybe KT really did get the work experience kid to put The Creed through Google and back again. "We strive to promote the non-competitive results of the club" certainly rings true at the moment.

Interesting to know, does that include copy?

Would this extend to an OS ad or just local?

Remakes and sound-alikes aren't covered by copyright. You have to publish the exact same work and pass it off as your own for a copyright infringement. Otherwise everyone would be in breach of a copyright somewhere along the line.

Remember the Simpsons:

"They said they changed it just enough so they don't have to pay us."

I was just told SEN used some of the content of this podcast. Anyone hear the discussion?

He said it was “on a podcast for the Port Adelaide fans”
Shame he couldn’t have named the podcast or given Rick’s business a small plug at least.
Imagine the ratings boost you would get :)

That's the fair use clause in the US, it doesn't apply in Australia.

If you use a substantial part or pass off or use a part in the same way the original was used you can be sued for damages. Particularly if you are doing so publicly or for profit.

Rucci never attributes sources when it comes to competing outlets.

BigFooty is the blogosphere.

Rick's program is a podcast.
