Why did they implement the new rule, have the AFL had criticism with people wanting more one-on-one battles or less "scrums"?

Seems lame, I presume it's only in the AFL and not lower leagues.

There were a lot of calls the game was too congested last year, once again a case of the very loud minority (media and ‘legends’ that are too bloody old to know better) so the afl overreacted.

Looks very different at centre bounces. But that’s really all. Unfortunately there’s a lot of centre bounces in afl.

We were good at centre clearances in 2018. (3rd). For stoppages we were 17th.

Yep I expect it’ll be very similar this year. We tend to go more defensive at around the ground stoppages. While we’re a lot more offensive at the centre clearances.
