Can understand the Gotch/Harper decision given Harper made 15 for Melbourne and Gotch made 59 n/o. Disappointed to see Dean still get a game but he did make 76 for Footscray.

Looks like Travis Dean is getting the Aaron Finch treatment, despite his atrocious form he is supposedly undroppable because he has the C next to his name. Surely there is someone better who can captain and surely there would be better options for an opening bat?

He is one of the most overrated batsman in the entire competition but then again I don’t even know if you guys even rate him anymore.

Serious question, would Tim Paine even be a certain starter in the Tasmanian XI if he wasn’t donning the gloves when he is available? Not unless Tasmania want a specialist No.7 with the bat.

Take away your hatred of every Victorian and you'd realise pretty much all of us have been saying he shouldn't be in the side over the past 15 games or so. We have nothing but openers making runs in grade cricket yet he gets rewarded with captaincy...

Hence why I said I’m pretty sure he isn’t even rated by you Victorian fans anymore. I honestly can’t believe he is captain. I’ll give credit when credit is due but Dean’s last 12 months must be bordering tail ender status. I’d even back Scott Boland to make more runs than Dean at the moment in any given day

The only other batsman that comes immediately to mind that has been horrendously out of form for ages yet still seems to somehow be miraculously picked is Hilton Cartwright. And to a lesser extent a 2019 Jake Lehmann.

Griffith has been pretty keen to rest him both for the Hurricanes and now the Tigers after one match.

If Bailey was available I'd say probably not but it looks like they are going to debut another batsman here so like you said he would get a game at 7 if Wade was keeping and batting higher.

Siddle out for Fekete

Rogers, Paine, Pyecroft out for Rainbird, Freeman, Bell

Surprised Rogers got cut given the fragility of that Tassie tail. Bloke is a Luke Butterworth clone and a better bat than Freeman IMO.

And Dean fails AGAIN. FFS the guy is averaging less than 20 this year!

No idea why Dean is still is in the side, also Pucovski hasn't made a run since returning. Terrible start for the Vics today.

Dean our for 2 this morning...

Colour me ****ing shocked. Once the Aussie players are back he should be thrown to the scrap heap.

Anyways good fight back from you lot considering you went in a batsman down. Pity QLD don’t seem to want to take advantage of Tasmania falling behind here.

Won't have them back again. And a Draw keeps you guys alive, just. As long as we beat NSW as well though

Harris looking good again, hopefully he can crack the 1k season this innings.

Tassie making some strange selection decisions
Can understand the Freeman one, you need a spinner at the Junction, even if he's bowling tripe. But playing Rainbird, who at his best was mediocre, is just plain baffling.
