You see that’s the great thing about having JOM with us. We’ll know COGs won’t dick us around because of him. Unlike the Shiel scenario we’ll know if there is or isn’t a chance more than likely sooner than other suitors.

Shiel was a great get for the jabbers - no doubt about BUT they paid full tote odds much to the angst of dildoro. It’s very early days but their pick 11 - Jai Caldwell and pick 12 Xavier Duursma looked very, very impressive over the weekend. They also had to give up their first pick in this years draft. Shiel will probably slot right in and dominate but if something happens to his dodgy shoulders it will really hurt.

Yes we paid plenty for Chad but I’m very happy that we have our first selection available this year. Burton was a good player but the club obviously saw some limitations in his game.

For mine I hope that the club is working out every possible angle in trying to somehow secure Noah Anderson - this is exactly the type of midfielder we are crying out for. Only 15 games short of securing him under father son ... ouch!

New age footy... we really need a mid year trade period, players can have a 2 week break and clubs can trade their arses off. It would be great entertainment and would give clubs the chance to “sell” or “buy” depending on their positions.
Geezus shagger Gil is going to like hearing that kind of stuff coming from supporters.

Me not so much.

Yeah you could have crap luck like the hawks have with Tom but I can only see this being advantageous for teams that can't get their shit together like the saints. I feel it puts less value on getting your ducks in a row at draft and trade time each year and allowing the incompetent to play catch up.

Anyone for a wildcard series to give the mediocre a chance, don't get me started.

Obviously the bombers only gave up 9 and a future first and got back what ended up being Irving Mosquito so the player they could have had either Caldwell or anyone picked after that. I do agree though Im not sure I wouldn't prefer an 18 year old Caldwelll

While JOM and COGS are very, very close, I was under the impression that TOM was in the clique also.

Didn't they all play together in the Swan Districts side prior to being drafted.

This only enhances our chances of him joining.

Let the games begin!

Omeara was recruited from Perth FC, Mitchell from Claremont FC and Cogs from Swan Districts FC...

Apologies, perhaps I have my wires crossed?

Wish you were right...😉

Apparently Cogs is part owner of 2 restaurants one being in Sydney, and the other in Richmond ( Victoria ). Might take the WA return out of the equation if he likes popping in all the time to keep an eye on things.

Clutching BIGTIME here. 😂

They showed a photo of it on the TV I think ?
Might have been Sunday Footy C7 when they had either TOM or JOM on???

Interesting, unfortunately I missed it.

Was there anything in the interview worth mentioning?

They played 18/u for WA together.

Did a little research online, you are most certainly correct my friend.

Another point of interest that some of us here might not be aware of, is that in that same year Stephen Coniglio also won the Larke Madal, which is awarded to the best player in Division 1 of the competition.

The kid seriously has the potential to be elite, the upcoming season will show us what he's truly made of.

I think we all do mate.

Well it's settled then, move in with JOM and TOM in Richmond, which would make it all the easier.

I know that when I'm saying this, it's on behalf of all true Hawthorn supporters, we're all clutching bigtime.

Whatever it takes, let's get it done!

And also kicked 5 goals in the league grand final victory for Swan Districts as a 17 year old.

Anyone else think Brandon Ellis would be worth a look at? RFA at years end.

Personally I don’t rate this guy very much and can’t see where he fits in the team. We now have an abundance of half backs and wingmen who are all either better than him or younger than him and have more potential.

Deledio and Heater will be both moved on and that will free up 1.2

Kelly will not be getting a pay rise after his last contract was off the charts.

As I mentioned in an earlier post Cogs will remain a Giant and I believe will sign a 2 year extension.

Happy Hump Day.

Jeremy Cameron is one of the highest earning players in the league - he signed a 5 year $4 million contract in 2015 and supposedly earned a tick under the $1 million mark in 2018. So depending on how his contract is loaded he could potentially be a million dollar player this year.

Now factor in that Coniglio and Kelly both come out of contract this year. GWS will need to pay Cameron this year & next on top of offering tempting extensions to Kelly and Coniglio in order to stop them looking elsewhere, which doesn't look too feasible.

Kelly will have to get a pay rise in order to keep him, remember the North offer? He's not going to turn that down twice.

So if Kelly gets a pay rise, what does that leave for Coniglio? Not much I'd say.

Don't be surprised if he 'put contract talks on hold'.

I'd see him as a Howe upgrade, he played some brilliant football when he rotated through the midfield more.
