Just a ridiculous decision based on bloody stats, nuthin' else.

An 18yo half forward plays every game like a 25yo veteran for the eventual premiership team and finishes 6th in their best and fairest award, but receives fewer votes than a sheepdog midfielder who literally couldn't hit the side of a barn with his kicks.

God, what a crock of shit that was! That ended any credibility the award might've had.

13 Premierships / 5 Brownlow Medalists / 2 Rising Star Awards v 1 Brownlow and 2 Rising Stars - I agree you were ripped off but the AFL had to do something to make Freo seem even remotely relevant at the time - that's the way they operate !!!

It actually is potentially covered by two sections in the WA criminal code.

74B. Causing fear or alarm to driver of conveyance or others
(2) A person who, without lawful excuse —

(a) causes an object or substance to be directed at or near, or to be placed in or near the path of, a conveyance that a person is driving;

in circumstances that are likely to cause fear or alarm to any person commits a crime and is liable to imprisonment for 7 years.

304. Act or omission causing bodily harm or danger
(1) If a person omits to do any act that it is the person’s duty to do, or unlawfully does any act, as a result of which —

(a) bodily harm is caused to any person; or

(b) the life, health or safety of any person is or is likely to be endangered,

the person is guilty of a crime and is liable to imprisonment for 7 years.

Whether or not he is charged it is an absolute **** knuckle thing to do- horses spook easy and are travelling at speeds where theres a very good chance of death or serious injury if they suddenly shy away.

You're right, Palmer was a gun in his first year. His career didn't live up to expectations but he fully deserved his rising star award.
