Checking my starting team from last year - my best year

Premos: Laird, Lloyd, Cripps, m Crouch, Neale, Fyfe, Titch, S. Martin, Gawn
Mid pricers: Cogs, D Smith, Sicily, Savage Petracca, Billings, Lobb
Rookies: 6 on field


This year - 11 premos - 475k+
Mid pricers - 5
Rookies - 6 on field

Main difference - my mid pricers this year are fair bit riskier - have lower floors, have chosen a fair few higher priced premos where I avoided some of those last year.

Overall, I'm surprised its not that different. Feels so much riskier this year!

The mid pricers are riskier, there seems to be less confidence in rookies esp forwards, the rule changes means kick in defenders and the outside mids are a bit more relevant, and the set/forget ruck combo costs some serious coin.
Think this might be a low scoring year *crossed fingers*

All is in readiness for the season

- Took Mrs to dinner last night
- Bought Mrs 12 long stem Roses
- Made sure Mrs is aware of new Netflix series
- Booked holiday for October so Mrs has something to look forward to
- Mowed the lawns
- Triple checked Telstra and Herald Sun accounts are in order
- Allocated Kid 1 the role of scouring Herald Sun and Age and sending me relevant info
- Allocated Kid 2 the role of sourcing info from AFL site and sending it to me
- Allocated Kid 3 the role of Social media and sending me updates
- Allocated Kid 4 to check the other 3 are performing their roles
- Allocated myself to Big Footy

its Setterfield or Drew for me.
i have a sneaky feeling Setterfield might struggle tonight along with plenty of his Carlton team mates.
Balta not even in consideration.

I hate picking which rookies to start in round 1

no room for him unfortunately. only have 3 forward rookies and i'm taking Setterfield, Parker and Drew.
but even if I had him i'd back in one the midfielders ahead of a tall forward.
...if Balta goes back then its a whole different story.

I’m currently taking Drew and Balta ahead of Petrucelle. Tempted to swing Drew to mid bench for dpp though depending on what mid rookies are named.

My issues are tossing up between parker, burgess, petrachelly etc

all either small forward plodders or no JS
