It's funny - but predictable - how Pies supporters are saying Danger and Cats supporters are saying Grundy. Typical rd-1 nerves, I suppose. As a kangas supporter, I confidently have the C on Fyfe if my VC choice falls over.

Captain Gawn + mid-price madness brigade to the rescue.

Fyfe averages a million vs Norf so considering him over Gawn. No preseason has me slightly worried though. Cogs decent option too.

He was flying, even played AFLX. He missed the last little bit with an elbow issue but shouldn't have lost much conditioning.

Fyfe C for me.

Gawn V Port since 2016: 167, 151, 108, 140.

Macrae V Sydney since 2016: 68, 112, 98, 123, 103.

Those are some huge numbers for Gawn, Macrae seems to struggle v Sydney and he's never had to cop the Hewett tag.

Have Cripps v/c but tempted by Gawn, Cogs or Fyfe.

Crisp was a disappointment, but Dahl tonned, so I guess I'm ahead of the Grundyites, and those who captained Danger or Grundy. Think I'll sit out Gawn, and if he goes 130 or less, I'll take Cripp's score. If Gawn goes big then Fyfe, with no Jacobs for North.

After watching solid captain options like Dangerspud and Grundy act like a couple of potatoes, i'd be taking Cripps's 126 if i were you.


Absolute worst case is Gawn has a field day and scores 150, you're only losing what... 48 points at most? And that's worse case.

If you have both and had Cripps as C and Gawn scored 150 you'd be losing 24 points, not 48 for not captaining Gawn.
