No, this is just StKilda. At the merest hint of disappointment we turn on the club and tear it apart. That’s the reason we have a history of changing coaches and administrators every few years.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m frustrated with the lack of improvement in the team, and seriously question whether richo is the best man for the job. But at this point in the season I just want to see the team play, and hopefully see some improvement.

Alternatively, we can sack the cho, lethers, the medical staff, the recruiting team, the board and pretty much the entire club. At least then we will be certain of where we stand.

We do every other year as well. Unfortunately most are slow burn then burn out. I don't know if it's development, drafting or what but we must have the worst record in the league, we have really only had Jack Steven hit the top 50 AFL players since we were drafting the Riewoldt era guns. Since about 2003 we really haven't had many hits. Gresham is the only player on our list I'm confident is on the trajectory even. Steele, Ross, Billings etc who knows but we are seriously unlucky

If Ross just starts to use the footy better, he's instantly right up there. You'd have to be confident Steele will do well on what we've seen. Billings I agree could go any way

15 and 10 wasn't enough, we were terrible mostly last year which is perfect time to have them play 22 games.

15 and 10 was about right for both.

Coff showed early he was talented but tailed off and seemed physically cooked by the end of the season.

Clark was in and out but 15 is a good debut season.

We dont want to Jack Watt's them.

Yeah, might be best just not to play them at all in case they get tired or turn out to be bad players.

Surely the JLT is to get practice with the new game plan with the players who are going to play round 1 against proper opposition? Develop some cohesion within the team? See what works and what doesn’t?

Unfortunately with just two pre-season games these days there isn’t so much opportunity to give everyone a go.

I'm pretty sure Wilkie will be the backup ruck?

He may be or a combo of the both. We'll see how it goes tomorrow I guess. Wilkie will get smashed tho in the ruck i would think, but Bruce probably might not go a lot better. Gold Coast have Witts at 208cm and 2MP, so Wilkie at 191 and Bruce at 197 will struggle to compete I would think

Back when there were 3 games, one was typically used to test out all the kids and the other 2 to give the senior blokes a run.
Now with only two games, its the younger guys who have to miss out since preparing for rd1 is more important.

I know (think?) this is in humor, but this is a genuine option. By playing him back and having a third talk to cover, it gives us the option to swing him forward.

If we have 3 tall forwards in the side we can’t do that IMO as we would have 4 talls which is crazy in today’s footy.

I think we should be using the JLT to identify who is best 22 amongst other things.

I hope the coaching team didn’t lock in the 22 based only on pre season PB’s & some match sim against each other?

Now I get there are some automatic selections but I would’ve thought a dozen or so wouldve been fighting for the last six or so spots? See who can execute the new game plan against a genuine opposition team & then slot the best performed into those last spots.

Seems Coff, White, etc weren’t even in the convo. Disappointing for mine.

And believe me, I’ve been one of those questioning frequently where White is at, and I’m also very keen for Coff to come good. People can melt over selections till kingdom come but none of us are in the inner sanctum, so are not privy to why decisions are made.

We are not in the inner sanctum but maybe those that are have got it wrong? They admitted many faults last year so they are not immune to making poor judgements.

But yea, extended bench, I would’ve thought Coff especially gets a go. Uh.
