5 - Barrass, by a country mile. Dominated his opponents.
4 - Sheed. A very mixed game, was brilliant especially in the first half and continued to rack up the ball, but also did not go for several contests that painfully exposed his very outside nature. Gaffy would have gone for those, the sooner he is back the better.
3 - Hurn, seemed to be the only person able to take intercept marks today. Did what he could.
2 - Shuey, was OK.
1 - Jetta, liked what he gave off the back flank and his disposal & pressure acts were less s*** than most.

I think Oscar, Brander & Petch were promising, tonight wasn't their fault and I hope they keep getting backed in. Venables needs to lift, he's had more years in the system and did SFA aside from a lucky turnover goal. Darling was pretty good when it came to him.

DM - Have to be our ruck division. 4 disposals between them, plus Barrass had to ruck in defense? What the actual f*** was going on?

Tough one tonight. Trying to ignore numbers (perhaps except for the first and obvious pick) and focus on what they did with it...

5. Dom Sheed
4. Tom Barrass

The two stand outs. Now it's harder...

3. Luke Shuey
2. Oscar Allen
1. Dan Venables

Venables easily played with the most campaigner, so I'll reward him.

We have to give five votes do we? Sheesh...

5. Barrass. Was very good early and the least bad late.

4. Oh ffs, really? I dunno....Sheed?
3. Seriously? Five players? Yeo?
2. Jesus Christ. Allen maybe?
1. This is just getting ridiculous now.

I guess Liam Duggan had moments where he was clean at ground level (mixed in with the moments where his hands were momentarily replaced by oily paddles). Potentially the least deserved vote in BigFooty history.

-50 votes for the match committee.

First two the only standouts.

5. Dom Sheed - His first quarter was electric and at least contributed the next 3.
4. Tom Barrass - Our best defender. Tried with little help. Why was he rucking though?
3. Jack Darling - Zero service but put his body on the line and was the only threat up forward post qtr 1.
2. Shannon Hurn - Was let down by Sheppard/Cole tonight and copped the slack.
1. Lewis Jetta - Actually defended better than others around him and at least tried to create something.

5. Sheed - 21 contested possessions, 10 clearances and a goal. People are underrating his game, he was probably best on.
4. Barrass - was legit good, and not that he should have been doing it, was pretty good in the ruck too with 12 hitouts.

3. Hurn - was typically solid and one of our few who kicked well

2. Shuey - was serviceable through the midfield
1. Darling - Presented pretty well, probably not his fault he wasn't more in the game.

DM - Vardy, Hickey, Masten, Waterman. All absolutely poor today and all reasonably experienced players. The ruckman just didn't really even compete.

Well that was ugly after Q1.

5. Sheed - gonna have a big year it seems
4. Barrass - Great on defence - spoiled a few attempts he would usually mark
3. Shuey - best of the also rans
2. Shep
1. Allen - I'd have him in front of Brander at this stage (although I'm big on both of them)

DM: Ruckmen, Masto, Waterman looks like he's gone backwards from last year.

I'd put this loss down to the weather and ground conditions but that doesn't explain our near 5 goal lead after the 1st quarter. Maybe the humidity sapped us of all our energy. Sucks because we play the Gabba well during the day.
