His uncle, Roger, was hard as a cat's head....a legend at Uni Blues who was drafted by Hawthorn back in the 70's but had Don Scott and Al Martello ahead of him, so starved of opportunities. An absolute gentleman off the field, but had classic white line fever.

Hoping that some of this may rub off on Charlie....

I never get upset about a rumour.

A few facts or some corroboration and I might.
biscuit ogre can vouch for the veracity of said staggering - not exactly an unbiased source.........

Yep in breaking news a young good looking professional football likes to hit the town and have some fun.
who would've thought a young male in his very early 20's who gets paid in the high 6 figures and would literally have girls hanging off him every time he goes out likes to get on the piss.

Nothing worse than when you're chatting up a bird and a brand new Sherrin bounces along and snakes you. Curse you young good looking football.

Update on annual GWS raiding ...

Coniglio - gettable but Hawks have been in to him already big time. No real go-home factor visible.
Tomlinson - for some reason a fave of SOS. Rates himself though which means it would be protracted and costly
Taranto - little chance. expects to get massive midfield minutes this year and GWS trying to find the cap to keep him.
Hopper - only slightly more likely than Taranto. Do we need him since getting Setterfield, Walsh and Stocker?
Kelly - will likely sign for two years and then be eligible for free agency

St Kilda trying to entrench Jack Billings in the club with a leadership role.

This may influence his decision to stay or go at the end of the season.

Come to Carlton Jack :)

What's the order of wish list

Taranto
Gresham
Billings

All three will probably stay at their respective clubs.

Gresham and Taranto would cost too much and not worth the price tag.

Billings would only be of interest if he only costs one late first round selection.

Preference would be as per the order above, but a Gresham type would be the clubs greatest need.

I'll be interested to see the names that come up on the trade table this year. If Adelaide, Essendon, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide or Sydney have terrible years, there could be some real bargain buys.

Think it was questioned if SOS and Andy McKay offered pick 10 in the 2015 draft for Tomlinson post trade period.

We've obviously liked him for a long time.

He'd be a good fit for us on the wing.

I guess the other consideration is that if you don't have to trade any draft picks for him, it gives you the flexibility to retain your first round selection in the 2019 draft. This could be a real bonus if the season becomes unfavourable for the Crows.

I agree, ideally we could get 2 good free agents for free. Maybe down grade the pick 10 for example for 18 and 21 and try to get a couple oh hole fillers in the side, which will be clearer to us at the end of the season. Imo. Elliot and Greene were both outside the top 10 in their drafts... love to pick up a freak small forward like everyone else

Tomlinson has not and will never be worth that price, but then again neither was McGovern...

Can't see us making that mistake twice.

It was just about a done deal wasn't it, didn't GWS pull out last minute to be consistent with refusing McCarthy leaving?

Id take McKay and Curnow over Tomlinson any day.

What would he be worth a year? 600k? Do we really need him?

Don't need him as much as we did 3 years ago imo.

Yeah I dunno if we need him at all.

Although Marchbanks injury history is becoming a problem.

Saints are total rubbish and will pay anyone overs so they would offer much more than us.

If we got him for 600K, it would be a steal

Would walk into HB or wing in pretty much any side. Bottom 6 teams he would be a top 10 player

Billings may be the only one gettable amongst that lot. Throw in Jack Martin as well...probably would have been a * now if they didn't cash in all their chips on Shiel.

Saints still have a suburban club culture, Billings would be a far better player in a more professional environment.

Not sure how we should be spending our 1st rounder though...we urgently need to bring in a quality young ruckman, either through the trade or via the draft.

Any trade should at least give us some currency in return to access to a young ruck through the draft (ie a 2nd round pick). It looks like there are a number of athletic rucks in this year's draft, only Luke Jackson possibly to get picked up in the 1st round, so hoping that any trades during the trade period will leave us with a 2nd round pick to access the best of the remaining.

The other option may be to trade in the best player(s) we can access during the trade period regardless, with the view of bringing in the best tall via the draft in 2020, like a Henry Walsh, if we have no draft currency remaining this year.
