I have never left a game early - and until this last game thought I never would - and I didn’t
BUT
IF I have to sit through too much more of what got served up Sat, I’m in the bar at 3/4 time !!!!!!!
To quote Camporeale:
"We don't need to change things. A lot of the key indicators were really good".
I'm speechless.
Hill definitely wasn't pushed. That absolute BS.You think because they played those games, it means Hawthorn weren't happy to move them on? They cashed in fringe 22 players, guys who contributed and looked ok in premiership sides but weren't really important in any way, at the peak of their value, replaced them on the cheap with other fringe players like Henderson, and used the capital to move about looking for replacements for the star core players that were close to retirement.
Those players didn't leave, they were pushed. Franklin is the only one who really chose to leave while still at the peak of his star powers.
True, but substitute "random HBF" for DMac to take the emotion out of it, and I wouldn't expect a HBF to have as many score involvements as a mid/HFF.This is why score involvements is such a good stat.
Rory Sloane - 8
Josh Jenkins - 4
Lachie Murphy - 3
Tom Doedee - 1
David Mackay - 1
Thompson is a club great , he is not a club legendWhat absolute bullshit!
Simon Goodwin, Nigel Smart, Scott Thompson etc etc
You should highlight the Atkins tackle count. And notice the difference between he and the other 21Things i notice in the stats:
Doedee at 100% when he goes down. Says it all.
Tom Lynch, our HB -> HF link player... 2 i50s all game.
Gibbs, 16 disposals at 62.5% with 7 tackles - WTF were you doing?
Atkins, 10 i50s, more than twice as many as anyone else... if i say our entry into F50 was terrible, is that your fault? or bad forward running patterns?
Douglas, 15 disposals at 47% with 2 points? Just **** off. People want to claim your 250 games of experience, is important, then why did our debutant have a more influential game?
And p.s., stop ******* jogging past on the wing in front of me when there's a contest you could impact, it's ******* disgraceful. If you don't want to put the effort in, you want to be a millionaire, seriously **** off and quit, I'm not interested in the Richard Douglas 22 Game Retirement Tour.

Not so sure he doesnt know how to play itYes Gibbs was extremely ordinary, however this was because he was sent into defence to cover for Doedee. He had no idea what to do, and was completely useless. Prior to that, he had 7 possessions and 6 tackles and I thought was one one the few mids that was going hard at the man. Putting him into defence made our midfield AND defence weaker. That's on the coaches, particularly after they tried it and it was obvious it wasn't working.
I think I have a new favourite whipping boy over Campo, Ben Hart.
Our forward structure was abysmal. Don't get me wrong, the entry into our F50 was also a complete and utter joke, (not to mention that our midfield still sucked defensively), but our forwards were never in the right spot, and the smalls were never around to mop up the mess.
There was just 0 cohesion whatsoever. It's only round 1, but I had 0 faith in Hart as a forward coach, and playing on our own home turf, I did not like the look of our forward structure whatsoever. Solid 1/10 score for our so called "attacking weapons" to start the season.

I'd suggest you watch the whole interview on YouTube before making up your mind based on one quote.Holy hell...
That is utter bullshit.
Suckling through 2011 to 2015 played 23, 25, 23 and 25 games - 0 VFL games in that period. Missed a season in that period with a knee reco.
Hill through 2013 to 2016 played 24, 22, 24 and 20 games a season - 0 VFL games in that period
Duryea through 2013 to 2018 played 18,23, 22, 23, 15 and 17 games a season. - 7 VFL games in that period
So why are you mad we got rid of Jarryd Lyons? That's proving his point mate.
They're fringe 22 players; good enough to consistently get selected, but not critical to the success of the team; exactly the type of players who are replaceable, and give you the opportunity to improve your side.
If we were ruthless, our side would look a lot different - and so would our success rate.
Sums up the mediocrity cancer that has afflicted this club since 1998.
Appalling. How this muppet continues to be associated with us is astounding. He should seriously STFU.
We moved on Jarryd Lyons and now there's a whole thread on what a massive **** up that was. This board won't be happy to see any player moved on if they play any level of competent football at another club.
So why are you mad we got rid of Jarryd Lyons?
We gave him away because we'd rather select perennial underachieving good blokes, than him.
Perennial underachievers Matt Crouch and Hugh Greenwood? We gave him away because we'd rather select perennial underachieving good blokes, than him.
Again bullshit, fringe best 22 AFL players do not consistently play AFL when fit for selection and no VFL, SANFL, WAFL etc. That's proving his point mate.

OK I'll concede that but he did largely carry our midfield for close to a decade.Thompson is a club great , he is not a club legend
Fring
