Not sure about the hatred for Whateley. I find he's pretty level headed unless Geelong are involved.

In the early days years of 360 I would have probably agreed. Since then he has gotten a higher profile and more AFL gigs and generally seems to come across as an AFL corporate stooge in terms of most of his thinking.

I can see that to an extent but I think unlike real corporate stooges he actually has what he thinks is best for the game at heart rather than his hip pocket. He has no problem calling bullshit when he sees it.

Sure it might not put money in his pocket (though I would suggest that toying the AFL Corporate line has a positive effect on a journo's career when in a position such as his, but that doesn't mean that is the REASON he has his positions), but what he thinks for the game is, IMO, generally to the detriment of the product in the long run.

I'll leave it at that though. Too shitty at my own club's nonsense to get too annoyed over league/media issues.

They were talking about it on 360 the other night, and now it goes up against a mens game at the same time. The highly rated NMFC vs BLFC. Conspiracy theorists would suggest it was put against this "high viewing" game to prove what a success the AFLW has become when it outviews the mens. That was specifically mentioned a couple of times. I couldn't care either way, just like the theory :-D
