The girls didn't have their day ruined by it. I said the big crowd was great. Just provide that support all year. I went to every game. At least 30,000 of those that turned up hadn't been to one.

You said utter selfish behaviour..... and that you got screwed because of the bigger crowd.

Get a grip and enjoy a fantastic, history making day.

Big crowds are great. But what pissed me of was that alot of AFC fans at this game gave little to no shits about AFLW and simply decided to gate crash the party of those of us who go to every game. This is why free tickets don't work. Instead of having 20,000 keen AFLW fans enjoying the game and AO facilities plus the public transport on offer we got screwed. Yes it's great to have that support but do it the whole season don't just turn up because you want to join in the party. Utter selfish behaviour. I don't blame AO nor Adelaide metro for this.

Err... huh?

To all those bagging me. At least I and others who post on here regularly probably went to nearly every game. How many of you newbs can say you even went before. I'm not saying it's a bad thing you come to games. But be interested more often.

I have been to most and watched all others. I think it's great that so many people were interested. I think it's sad that you are upset about others enjoying the moment.

This is for you.... because, afterall, the AFLW is all about supporters like you...

Off to the Carlton board...
you can't seriously think there'll be any moaning or complaining on our board? lucky to be involved and thumped by a superior team - pretty cut and dry

God forbid the AFLW should generate interest from people who had never been to a game before.

It's pretty small minded. It was a grand final. Why do they feel the need to argue a crowd figure. If they somehow prove a lower number does a Pafcw team magically appear.

It stems from their argument that the Crows deliberately inflate their crowd numbers, but apparently Port don't. I'd suggest that there are times when the crowd numbers are not totally accurate, but it would be an Adelaide Oval thing as opposed to a club thing. There have been 35k crowds for Port games that were clearly not 35k.

If you're an AFLW fan and complain about a bandwagon then good luck. This competition needs a bandwagon to function.

I guess the good news is I doubt very much that Philips will be poached by another club, I also think no chance of Randall or Marinoff leaving either.

We'll be like Hawthorn, girls will want to play for us, no one will want to leave unless they're not best 22

There was a reported 41K yesterday and there's no way it was that full.

AO fudge all crowd numbers, not just theirs, not just ours.

I don't wear jocks ;).

but the fact you are sad enough to be bothered posting speaks volumes.
Sad enough to be bothered posting? Sad about what? I am not following the train of thought you are having here. But anyway, sorry to intrude in to YOUR thread as it seems you are this threads police. Enjoy your night celebrating.

I ****ing love these girls :thumbsu:

Shattered for Chloe and Erin, but nobody can take away the fact that they are premiership players. I really hope it's not the last we see of Erin. And Chloe is one of my absolute favorites, hope she comes back stronger than ever and takes another hanger in next year's grand final!

Bit of a strange game in many ways. The umpiring was frankly baffling. Crowd figure seemed significantly inflated but still at least 45k plus was an absolutely incredible turnout. Erin MVP on the back of 2.5 quarters feels strange too but there wasn't another standout I guess, very even contribution across the ground. Such a high scoring first half and then the second half we kicked just one goal to Carlton's zero.

But all strangeness aside, we were the better side from the opening bounce all the way to the final siren. Every player stood up and made us proud. The best team won and won well. In the end, Carlton only managed to match our quarter time score. Ponter matched them in a quarter. We set the standard this year that other teams will strive to emulate going forward. In the last three weeks we've conceded just four goals while kicking 31 ourselves. Unstoppable, hungry, passionate, amazing.

Matthew, Erin and Chelsea all spoke excellently, particularly Erin given her injury. I thought the choir at half time was exceptional too. With no disrespect meant to Amy Shark, they were the best singers of the day.

I couldn't be prouder of this bunch of amazing women. Let's all come back and do it again next year, girls! I reckon we're just two premierships into a dynasty.
