So you were in the box were you? Do we credit Bolton for the lift in intensity in the last or the players? Do we blame Bolton for the missed sodas by our players?

You just said it yourself!!!!! We lifted in the last because they went inside rather than the boundary!!!! **** me I feel like I’m taking crazy pills here

Edit* the last two goals in 30 seconds of the third we’re , you guessed it, going inside straight down the the middle

Really? Coaches have always been the scape goats. Shot across the bow, then players are traded or cut.

9 contested possessions between Setterfield and Dow, no we don’t need Kennedy at all, Fisher had 14 cont poss and he’s 65kg for **** sake, Cripps had another 22 cont poss because he had to to make up for Dow and Setterfield. They better bring Kennedy in next week or else.

Another week another game where we get in a position to go BANG, but there’s just no killer instinct in this playing group. We always shit the bed when the game is on the line

When Dow and McKay miss really easy shots at the start you know they are not sufficiently switched on not too “shit the bed”.

Been saying it for a while, we need more speed and guys that can stick a kick, until that changes we will continue to just progress slowly

Funnily enough considering today and everyone’s (probably somewhat accurate) opinion on his game, I think in that direction stands LOB (and others of course). Dude can kick a low, quick, accurate pass probably more often than not - sure that’s probably a basic skill, but jeez it’s not like we’ve been blessed by players particularly good at that or other basic skills this century

Whos responsibility is it to teach them that I wonder.
You can't figure that out?
There is only time that can do it.
In a pressure moment you learn it when your sick of being beaten. A coach can talk forever till that moment and nothing will ever change. Our players have got to own it. Once they do that then the coach is able to do his stuff.
There is a saying. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

The tactical errors were huge. Too much focus on Blakey when Heeney and Hayward were the real problems.

No strategy to easily rush those deep kicks into their 50. For some reason in many situations our defenders seemed to be moving away from goal side when they should have been milking a 2v1 advantage to prevent the ball squirting out towards the goal mouth. That, and our dogged persistence in playing Fisher as a clearance midfielder and almost exclusively using our tall forwards as the key conduit for any possession chain forward of centre leaves me thinking the coaching levels are an eclectic mix of suburban footy and 1970s VFL.

Today was an absolute joke from a coaching perspective, and set up many of these individual failures you're highlighting.

I am critical of our defensive setup apart from Jones on Buddy, matchups were all wrong. Losing McGovern mid game after Charlie being out hurt

Fisher should be playing a Gresham type role, not as the first outlet

Coaching has nothing to do with the poor "disposal young players" we have, has more to do with time and experience and somewhat of recruiting

25 years now without a flag, no signs of improvement, but we have moral victories, we must be doing something right.

Can we please recruit a genuine small forward in the draft this year, not a makeshift one, where we hope he can take the step necessary to play that role, I'm talking about one that has played small forward right through the junior system into TAC cup, that has tricks and kicks goals from nothing or very small space, someone who instinctively knows where the goals are, we are damn well crying out for one so badly

It was rhetorical and there is a pointless saying for everything.

Composure comes from confidence, lack of confidence is killing us. The system and structures dont seem to be making it any easier either.

Standing stationary to instructions and not spreading to position is the players fault is it?

You blame the players too easily. Shame on you.

We will beat Gold Coast by 10 goals.
Well GCS have a win, despite doing their best to blow it. Actually they have been very impressive for a team that was not meant to win a game. No Curnow and possibly no McGovern. I would reassess your estimate, considering we are averaging 70 points for the season.

We’ve improved! We are the 18th best team in the league, but the margin to 17th is as close as it’s been in a while.

Tell me, how does the coach fix terrible disposal mid game....?

Gov was on the bench because of hamstring tightness. Apparently he wanted to go back on and Russel said no.

Terrible disposal isn’t as noticeable if you have a game plan that has players spreading and finding space.
Look at Sydney today, their players were always on the move with our players trailing by up to 10m which gave them room and time to have better disposal.

Also, the few times we lowered our eyes and kicked short to a free player we opened up the ground and created spread, but unfortunately majority of the time it was long kicks along the boundary.

Bolton and selection committee be damned. Not bringing in Kennedy and using Obrien instead, disgraceful.

Everything after quarter time. Pathetic.

Out inability to change momentum and deal with anything at all. Unacceptable.

Confidence in Bolton is wearing thin.
