Stevo is down on confidence. He’ll get it back.
The whole team lacked confidence tonight. Scared, timid, indirect, slow, reactive constipated football.

Thought that a few times last year and every time he made a fool of me by playing a blinder the next week.
Burnt a couple of goals early and then seemed to go into his shell.

He's a second year kid and he's starting to feel the "consequences" of his footy decisions. Last year he just played (without fear) these last few weeks he's just looked like "He wants to do the right thing ALL the time" instead of just playing. His greatest talent is his spontaneity. Once that returns we'll all be marvelling at him again.
Go you good thing.

If you're gonna drop him you better find someone super quick to replace him. Varcs maybe but he doesn't get too much ball either. WHE would be nice but he's unavailable. His speed is too valuable to drop for mine.

Decision making poor, execution poor - and not getting much of it. Really struggling and not far off a stint in the VFL
Ordinary appraisal because it's not balanced. He is playing without last year's flair and second guessing himself, that's true. Made a couple of cringeworthy blunders last night, but they don't define his entire contribution. He is a 2nd year player that will find his way and make a contribution. I'd also drop him only for a suitable replacement.

Do you think he carries more responsibility for last night's result than Pendles, Sidey, &Beams?

Atu is quicker then Stevo and more physically developed.

I wouldn't be against swapping the 2 and see how it goes.

No but he is clearly out of form in all 3 games. There is no harm in him going back to the magoos and working on it before banging his way back in.

I think it would be too reactive dropping him this week Loki, not that I would discount that as an option further down the track. Especially so if his confidence isn't regained; that's what's affecting his natural game.

I don't think either of us is 100% right or wrong, both options (a) give him a stint in the magoos to find form and (b) showing faith in your players, have merit.

He should have got dragged when he waited an eternity to pass to Elliott who was 40 meters in the clear.

He'll be fine. I imagine there's an adjustment period in the forward 50 having WHE out of the side and Elliott back in. Not to mention the new 666 rules mean that defenders are playing the man now as opposed to guarding random patches of grass. Watch him boot 4 next week.

He will be alright, down on form but his role seems a little different so far this year and playing higher up the ground and not as deep in the forward 50.

Not a balanced appraisal, and yet you essentially agree with me?

He's clearly struggling, and might need to find some form in the VFL - not going to hurt him.

Of course the senior players need to shoulder plenty of responsibility. But they have the runs on the board to bounce back off a poor week.

I wrote in the game day post. that unfortunately for the kid he literally cost us the game. he had 2 joe the gooses over the top which last year he would have kicked those 2 goals. and then he kicked 2 out on the full which results in the next play goals to WC and the 50 metre penalty. so he directly cost us 5 goals ( 30 points ) in a game that we lose by 22. he is certainly lacking a bit of confidence atm. i'd love the coached to mix it up just a little bit more. play him off half back perhaps and break the lines. especially against wc as kicking through their zone does not work. so get him the ball in hand and take them on.

You're kidding...

I love Jaidyn but one criticism I have of him is that he doesn't utilise his greatest asset, speed, enough.
He should watch how Petruccelle goes about taking advantage of his speed.

By bursting through defences, turning on the afterburners, and then kicking behinds?
