could buy a lot of petrol with the>$100k a month the ecuadorian taxpayer was forking out so assange could smoke his pipe and feed his cats in knightsbridge.

gbp per capita is something like $6k a year. why on earth should they putting up this guy?

FWIW I think any attempt at extradition and prosecution by the US should be strongly opposed, but the idea Assange isn't as elbow deep in the mud as anyone else in international politics is fanciful.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the charges in Sweden have expired now.

(thinking out loud here...)

So the question now is what do the British charge him with, apart from violating his bail conditions.
Then, if they have guaranteed not to extradite him to any country where he won't face torture or the death penalty, they might decide it is too much hassle and just deport him back to Australia and let our government deal with any extradition requests from the US.

I realise it's pointless to try and penetrate the kool-aid haze that you and your fellow cult members exist in, but it's ultimately an opinion I've formed following along with the project's output since Collateral Murder and the groundbreaking stuff they exposed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Personally, I don't think Seth Rich and the satanic pizza diaries are really comparable.

If there's anyone left in this situation that's halfway worthy of anyone's hero worship it's Chelsea Manning.
