My partner and I had a baby girl on Tuesday, she has never seen Carlton lose. Today won’t be that day (she also sleeps 20 hrs a day and can only see about a meter away, but let’s not focus on that)....

Please tell us all that you named her Patrick.

My two daughters are named Bruce and Stephen.

As an aside from my stupidity of tuning in to watch us play a day ahead of time, here’s a cool little story.
Me and missus missed the registration for little miss playing basketball for her team, an unfortunate oversight, however, I posed the question to the young one, “how about footy little miss?”.
At first she seemed a touch reticent but considering her lack of options, she agreed!
So I jumped online and had her signed up and paid for with the local footy club and Auskick providers in half an hour.
Got several instant emails of thanks and congratulations etc etc from the big guys at HQ!
Smart operators love em or hate em!
Anyhoo, 24 hours later a get a text from a lady on behalf of the local footy club welcoming little miss aboard along with the family.
Auskick starts on the 27th of April, but would little miss like to play a game for the NAB Auskick on the 24th of April at The M.C.G?
Lol
The first time the light of my life pulls on a footy jumper and slips on a pair of boots will be on the greatest sporting ground on the planet and the home of our game!
She will realise my boyhood dream in her first ever game!
Dream come true:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Heads up from personal experience, don't hold her close to the tv like I did with mine.

Radio works.

This is a game we need to win. We beat them when we played at the end of last year and really need our backline to stand up today and keep it a low scoring game. If it turns into a shoot out I can't see us winning.

Carlton 82 - Gold Coast 68

Haha thanks for all the kinds words everyone, I don’t want to hijack the thread any longer with talk of my kids :-)

Cannot wait for today’s game, feel like Fisher is due for a big one. Hoping Lobbe has a strong game against Witts, late last year he was really good in our 1’s. I am a big beliverer in averages, and our small fwds have been quieter than usual of late, hoping they have a big game today and the likes of Gibbons and Polson sneak a few through the big sticks. Blues by 27.

Lions only won 5 games last year, but became more competitive and attracted good players

There is a difference between being in a hurry and impatient

Spot on - Brisbane didn’t win until Rnd 10 last year

Can’t wait for today’s game, I’m in Melbourne (with none of my Carlton gear, what was I thinking) and was wondering if anyone knew of any good pubs to catch the game near the CBD?

Jeepers, take it easy. People would just like a win to hang their hat on. It's been a year
how you present yourself is directly relevant to how people respond to you.......

I think SOS traded it on the belief the team would improve and win games this year and move up the ladder he said as much in an interview after draft night.

So, it cant be really twisted now. I actually agree with the deal as it applies pressure on the on field group to perform.
We haven't even played our 4th game yet, your jumping the gun a bit i reckon.

North Fitzroy Arms. 10 min from the city on a tram and owned by the great Percy Jones. You'll be surrounded by people in navy. Always good for an interstate game

I think a lot of supporters have been patient enough. It's time to start getting some wins on the board. It's not enough to say sure are showing promise any more.

Read in the paper today our winning % under Bolton is 27%.

Dow has played something like 2 wins in 23 games, and Fisher 5 wins in 37 games...they are in a losing environment that can be hard to change - that's not pretty reading.

I'm still backing Bolton for now, but the patience is wearing thin.
27% win percentage over 3 and a bit years is really not good enough, even for a rebuilding team.

Crown, if we win you can celebrate all night.

Heat is on today, there’s no excuses a win is a must. We’re the only club without points and if we don’t get some today we are in big strife as I can’t see us beating the dogs or Hawks in the next two weeks.

We need to start winning games of football, enough is enough.

Lose today and we're the only team without a win this year...and clear last on the table (again).
And after a loss to Sydney and potentially GC, who aren't good teams.

Simply embarrassing and not good enough if this occurs.

Give HBF a pm. He loves people dropping by for the game. He'll throw on lunch and refreshments, you get to meet MEB_ and bubba.

Congratulations, great name.
Rather hear proud parents talking about their littlies than people abusing our players, coach, recruiting etc.

Hoping the bounce improves on the way the day started for me.

Up at 5.00 am to watch the Aussie assault on the Masters only to be terribly disappointed so now to turn this around by watching a comprehensive football victory.

Now that tomorrows Masters tee off has been brought forward I can still resurrect the day by seeing a Blues win and and an epic golfing story in which both Scott and Day come from the clouds to fight it out in a playoff.

The Gods of Golf and football must get their heads together at least once.
