I know people will go into bat for Mirra but deadset he is borderline comedic with ball in hand, some of his decisions and execution is so bad you can’t even Believe it.

Anyway, does anyone have any info on the injury front? How bad is everyone? I’m just gutted

When under pressure it stands out like the proverbial dogs balls!!!
Cousins has his moments too, but a little early to call on him.

I’m with Sicily on this one. Mirra was tackled before he dropped to the ball. Where’s the prior ?

There was no prior. Players should be able to question the umpire, re decisions.

I thought you was having a go at Sicily for questioning the umpire with that decision by trying to big note himself! Hence my reply.

I now understand that you were criticising the umpire that made that decision. I do apologise for the confusion.

Am i the only one who feels like thats a win?

Percentage will be very important this year and on a day like today where we were the walking wounded......

I understand peoples frustration with umps after the western dogs debacle. But today was hardly a repeat.

Put the bottle down mate

Not an excuse they were a man down as well. Our last qtr once again was abysmal, we are gifting teams a bit of self belief that they can run over the top of us the moment we get injuries. It's not good enough.
Of course it’s an excuse. Two critical defenders out in the last quarter with rotations down was certainly a huge factor. We were still well in control then the tide shifted immediately after Stratts left the ground.

I'll say it again (and wonder it I'll get the same level of criticism as I did last week) Ceglar is not best 22. I wld be looking for an alternative.

Ceglar needs to play so when McEvoy is resting on the bench it means that Roughead doesn’t have to go up in the ruck. Right now Nash and Mirra aren’t best 22.

I think you’re alone there mate

What a load of horse shit !!
At a players 21st in 2014 Clarko played his music , opened himself up to his players ....... it's what his boys love about him ...all his players , it creates buy in .....belief.
suddenly it becomes know to the outside world and flogs like you see it as weakness ......being to soft .
Soft is a supporter who turns at the drop of a hat , on a coach who will be known by carriers end as a "great" of the game .
On a club who success in our generation is unmatched.

Well said.

The 3 that have to be omitted are, Mirra-he is shocking and I have Heart palpitations whenever he gets it. Ceglar- offers nothing at all, can’t take a mark to save himself. I would rather have Roughy do the relief ruck work. Morrison- I am a fan of, but he is in shocking form. Others who are on notice are Gunston, Smith, both shockingly out of form.
I would move Nash to CHB, he could be unbeatable down there.

And that umpiring decision on Mirra was a fu**in joke. Saw that 50 times today and that was the only one paid.

Hawthorn are rebuilding

There will be amazing wins
And heartbreaking/annoying losses.

I wouldn't change a thing. Things could be a lot worse. Imagine being a Carlton supporter, I'd need to freeze myself..... thaw out after 5 years and find out they still haven't won a game :P

If it's not umpires or injuries it's something else. The excuses have to stop. We were the worse team today. Our skill errors were exposed. It doesn't mean we're not a capable team. But the excuses have got to stop. Umpiring and Injuries only have so much of an impact.
Yet we lost by 4 points. If we had Jaegar, Stratts and Chip finish the game we would have won. No doubt. Injuries were a huge factor. And the umpiring was just crap..... but no surprises there.

You posted that after he’d just played one of his best games.

How did you think it was going to go?

Disappointing we couldn't hold on but I'm really quite pleased with the grit shown. Missing so many best 22 and senior leaders from the team before the game and then only to lose them through out the game. The younger players stood tall and fought it out until the end even when some questionable umpiring again went against us.

Throw a fit Mitchell, O'Meara, Shiels, Burgoyne into that side and we win today by 10 goals.

This year won't be our year but things are looking good for the years to come.

I'm not going to make it a hobby horse Abasi, but I've held this view for a while. He has been a good servant. Whilst he has some value, we shld look at offers.
