Religion Folau

Thanks millennials/Zers for turning any kind of discourse into a race to the bottom. You can't say anything without someone from either side taking offence and using schoolyard tautology to silence your POV.

Is there anything you ****s haven't destroyed?

Freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequence.

Folau can spout whatever garbage he likes but reasonable people are equally entitled to ridicule him for it. As his employer is entitled to tear up his contract.

EXACTLY!!!!

The amount of people who can’t seem to wrap their heads around this is mind boggling.

Can’t shake the feeling that some people in this thread may have criticised Adam Goodes in the past for bringing politics into football....

......but are now defending the right of Folau to bring politics into football
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

disgraceful....................he was preaching his religious beliefs. have you read 1984? familiar with wrongthink? disgusting. and here you are celebrating the loss of our liberties one by one
No liberties lost. He knew what he was doing. I own a pub for a living. If one of my employers was telling my customers that drunks will go to hell I wouldn't want to put up with it. They might not believe in hell but they might find it really damn annoying

What if your employees were posting it on Twitter. What could you do then ?

Not that I agree with the piece of text, but in the context that it is probably a piece of scripture or adapted from the Bible, his religious text, I am happy he is challenging to defend his right to profess from that religious text and his right to religious freedom.

Except Folou didn't bring them in, Rugby Australia did. Folau posted on his personal social media account, Rugby Australia then brought politics in by disagreeing with his religious views and taking action and then Folau is now defending himself.

Is that not accurate? Goodes may have done the same I'm not sure who played the race card first him or the media.

People are offended due to listing homosexuality but it was written with another 6-7 words.
Why are the other words not offensive only homosexual....double standards

Did he take drugs, bash people
I disagree, us fornicating athiests were very offended.

Liberal MP Tim Wilson ‘concerned’ by move to sack Israel Folau

Liberal MP Tim Wilson says he is “concerned” about Rugby Australia attempting to sack Israel Folau for sharing messages on social media that gay people are destined for hell.

The gay MP, who proposed to his husband in parliament while speaking on the same-sex marriage bill in 2017, declared rugby should not just be a game for “people who are agnostic or atheist”.

“There is a need for people to be able to express their views on something like religion, and their religious beliefs, without censorship,” Mr Wilson told the ABC.

What slur can be thrown at Tim Wilson that is effectively Uncle Tom for homosexual men?

Uncle Bruce?

He'll get called that rather than acknowledged for putting someone else's expression above his own self interests.
