Economical with the truth, wasn’t that Malcolm’s line?

#ilikebillshorten is right now the third top trend in Australia (after #lestweforget and #anzacday)

Maybe not so unpopular after all.

Edit: now number 1

Delegate and bargaining rep here.

Union member no, but used by the TWU in the Industrial Court as an expert (me ) & whilst normally the employer I certainly respect industrial issues, didnt abide my blokes losing pay to support a political stance.
Ran a Union site (100+ employees) with 4 unions & respected & worked with all of them & rank a couple of the delegates as friends, respect.

Tax relief, a return to surplus and a competently implemented energy policy.
Liberals are the worst economic managers in the last 10 years

Anyone else notice that Shorten runs like a fairy?
Yu mean light on his feet and seemingly flies through the air. You would never impose a homophobic slur now would you?
I wonder how many posters on this board have actually been in a union themselves.
Yes, TWU and CFMEU. Both have their issues but both have the safety of the worker paramount in their DNA. The amount of time a boss has tried to shortcut a job and found Union Power reminding them that shortcuts lead to deaths is too numerous to count

Shorten vows to take owner-drivers off the road

If Labor is elected it is all over for tens of thousands of owner-drivers across Australia.

Your source is shit. Reads like a Year 12 school paper
I have been in the transport industry for 30 years and an owner/driver for 15 years, I have a vested interest in this. Shifty Shitten owes his soul to the unions.
Yes he does. Doesnt make unions bad.

But you also need to look at your own ''mates'' sitting across the table from you that undercut your fee by 3c/km just to get the job. You better talk to your 'mates' that sling the transport manager a carton or a 50 to get the job ahead of you.

Unions represent the whole business. Owner operators need to look after themselves and get with the program or keep losing jobs to your 'mates'

Will Bill Kelty give Mr Shorten a call to explain Lindsay Fox has an interest to protect?

Oh the TWU were not afraid to use OH&S as a tool unrelated to worker safety, some organisers in NSW more than anywhere else, in the DNA of Sussex St.
One workplace injury is one too many.

Shorten reframes China
Bill Shorten said a federal Labor government would be less antagonistic towards China, saying not every dealing should be from a position of fear. Signalling a nuanced shift in regional policy, the Labor leader also said that if elected, Australia would stay closely allied to the United States but also have to become more self-reliant. He stepped up his criticism of what he believes has been an inconsistent and at times inflammatory handling of the China relationship by the Coalition.

"We won't view China just through the strategic prism of worst case scenario," he said. "We've got to view China as more than just a threat. It doesn't mean we're not going to take advice from security agencies and understand our ongoing commitment to the Five Eyes [security alliance with the US, Canada, the UK and New Zealand], but we can't just deal with countries from a position of fear.
"I just think deepen the ties. So when I have my disagreements with them, ideally they will hear from me first rather than through the media or the megaphone."

Wow, Foreign affairs in an election?
With Labor in NSW recently kicking own goals in the state election it's no coincidence being seen as 'China friendly' would pop up sooner or later.

I've voted ALP all my life but even I find it hard to work out what Bill Shorten stands for. He doesn't have any "boss" about him at all, nor charisma, nor can he speak well in front of live audience, maybe he's nervous or not that good on the hustings, I don't know, but he doesn't appeal to me.

I couldn’t warm to Rudd and he apparently had all that. Pretending hes howard lite and sucking up to the liberals. How did THAT go

Shorten won’t be giving any of these mofos fat jobs in the us etc, as they are corrupt and useless

I’m charismad out where PMs go

Meanwhile scomo is just a disgusting human but he’s the least worst they can offer

Do you vote on personality or policy?
