100% re: character development. Spiderman and Guardians 2 specifically are big on character development that pays off in Infinity War/Endgame. If you’re on a time crunch though and just wanted to catch up on key points ahead of the ridiculous final act that is Endgame, I think some have to get cut.

On an unsurprising note yes I am a massive nerd and would talk about these movies forever.
Yeah you could probably get away with just the core movies and get the major character development from Avengers etc.

I rewatched all the Marvel movies as prep (sans The Incredible Hulk) and the first two Thors and the first Captain America are really rough to get through imo.

On another equally nerdy point, I’m seeing Endgame tomorrow night but I am yet to see Captain Marvel so I am trying to find a daytime showing of it somewhere tomorrow to go see before Endgame.

Endgame though. Holy ****.

Posted this on the Media and Entertainment board but will repost it here.

Astonishing film. 10/10

Surely the Marvel Cinematic Universe culminating in Endgame is the greatest achievement in filmmaking of all time?

Will be seeing this one multiple times for sure.

-Cap wielding Mjolnir
-Avengers Assemble
-I am Iron Man
-Throwbacks (elevator scene, Tony’s old chest arc reactor at his funeral, Battle of New York etc)
-The dead silence only broken by Pepper’s cries when Tony dies
-Even the ruddy end credits were amazing
-MCU started with Tony Stark, was only fitting that it ends with him.

Only real gripe was fat Thor. I thought it was a good gag to start off with and echoed Thor’s unhealthy state of mind, but it kind of took you out of the emotional scenes later on with the absurdness of it

Judging by your posting, I assume you also caught the 10.15 pm time slot?

Look at all the plebs with ‘responsibilities’ and ‘fulfilling things in their lives’ who didn’t see it 8am Wednesday.
I only love you in the low 1000’s to 900 range now.
