I think a lot of this would be reliant on the Dockers coming out flat, which is certainly possible. Their worst and best are pretty far apart.

Not confident personally, the injuries to our talls have just destroyed us this year.

I think the ground suits our style and while the dry deck suits the Dockers, it doesn't give them the extra room they like

Plowman Young Boyd
Saad Kemp Docherty
Cottrell Cripps O'Brien
Silvagni Curnow Fisher
Durdin McKay Owies
TDK Hewett Walsh

I/C: Newman, Newnes, Kennedy, Cerra*, Honey*, Dow*, Stocker*

Potential of Weitering, Pittonet and McGovern all returning in the next 2-4 weeks. Would be such a boost.

Hang in there Carlton.

Weitering and Pittonet returning are the keys to us getting back on track. Until then all I want to see is a maximum effort by those who are playing. If we could snag a win or two before then it'd be an absolute bonus. Looking forward to the excitement of the run home towards finals. Whatever happens, it's been an exciting year and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I think it's time!

A break glass situation calls for a desperate measure you know he will not give in and will throw everything at them it's in the blood to play desperate defensive footy.

He is becoming a liability and looks as though he is half a step behind the play. No drive when going for the ball. Could be a groin issue that he's managing, which will mean it won't get any better or worse.

Setters might be an option now to give us a point of difference...
He clearly needs to be rotated frequently. He has 2 or 3 good games then he's cooked.

He needs to be cherry ripe to have an impact. If he's off physically by 10% he's a liability. Even at 100% he is a defensive liability but makes up for it by being great in the contest and great overhead, which makes him a great link-up player for those tough inboard kicks.

We just need to play setters and Dow against the lesser teams and rest him for the good teams.

The pattern is incredibly clear now.

Add to that Cerra is an outlet for him with quick hands. Cerra has a gift for being in the right spot to receive and assist...

Mark my words ladies and gents!! We are going to annihilate freo next Saturday.

Get on the big win/little win, us at 40+

Once upon a time our best footy was played at the G' and struggled to win at marvel if our lives depended on it. Not anymore, our best brand of footy is played under the roof and I know we are depleted down back but our midfield will not have 3 average weeks in a row. We will dominate theirs and our forwards will have a field day. P.S [PLAYERCARD]Sam Durdin[/PLAYERCARD] is going to not only be a depth player in the years to come but an integral piece and one of the pieces to the finalisation of completing our list into a well rounded package.

Shame he has been hurt but grateful he is on our list now.
This kid can play and he will take and make the most of his second opportunity.
Should of never been let go by North.
He is no Weitering but he's a good honest player who can hold his own and wants to learn our systems and succeed.

Throw in a K.Amon as a free agent, along with a Goldstein for ruck depth and God willing we can have a clean run at it next year, we will be winning the flag in 2023. Go Blues

Might as well go with Mirkov in the ruck now and TDK CHB/Ruck, JSOS Forward/ Ruck.
TDK is buggered and his around the ground work is shriveling by the week.
Darcy will snap Mirkov in half. It'll be like a Mortal Kombat fatality.

Yep I'll be watching him with a very high interest tonight as I know he's raw etc but shit he's 211cm and 108kgs we need a proper TAP ruck man now to allow the midfield the dominance it was getting from Pittonet.

TDK could fill in as that tall fwd/ruck or even back man to intercept until we get the cavalry back.

I still think we should try Mirkov in the ruck put JSOS back and TDK fwd/ruck chop out when Mirkov comes off for a rest TDK in the ruck and Kemp on

forward then we always have 3 talls in the forward line have Harry/TDK/Kemp as chop out leads up the wings and Charlie in the square with smalls at his

feet and roving off if he brings it to ground plus three talls stops Charlie/Harry getting doubled teamed and if they do decide to double team one of them we use the other tall forward.

Will be very interesting team selection this week.

Not a crazy idea,if Treakle for Port can get a game from the sanfl of whatever league Mirkov won’t be any worse pretty sure he’s the same height as Darcy too.But in saying that 2 ruckmen at Marvel?Dosent work for every team.

Well, shit news for Durdin, so we just need to manufacture a defensive unit, to at the very least break even.

Make some adjustments to our centre bounce setup, more defensively, so even if they get first hands on the ball, they can't come through the front of the stoppage and we apply forward pressure

Rather than dragging 1 forward to the +1 stoppage, send 2 - 3 to the backend of it and when we win it, move the ball diagonally retaining possession.

I love our forward handball/ fast movement, but this is now about retaining possession and picking them apart

It takes years to build strong consistency into a game plan and execution. Voss has done much better than expected with a lot of injuries to key positions, but there is no substitute for continuity. I think the wet exposed some of the lighter framed players and less experienced players last night - Richmond enjoyed the tap on scragging kick routine because that is how they play the game - wet conditions detracted from Carlton's lesser players ability to play clean football and allowed for Richmond's soccer game to score by taking territory - they were accurate in front of goals and Carlton were horrible in teh first quarter and that ended up being the difference.

I don't think there is much to learn from last night regarding the game against Fremantle- except we go into another game one ruck short and one key defender short of serious. However a dry deck certainly suits the less experienced players at Carlton.

Collingwood beating Melbum was a huge blow to Finals as was St Kilda's win.

+1 we like dry decks too ;)

Out Durdin (inj), Martin (inj), Owies (reluctantly but out of form), Fogarty (offers nothing)
In Kemp (NMU), Dow (NMU), Mirkov (just have to..), Motlop (sub)

Reaching the bottom of the barrel, but we're still 4th!!! Next games are at Marvel our bastion of beltings, will win them both...

He's just got to be careful.
Taberner, Lobb or Treacy/Darcy are likely to destroy what remains of Kemps confidence.
Its going to take courage , great team spirit and sacrifice for TDK & Silvagni to confront Darcy and or Lobb in the ruck, these big men will rag doll our boys. Hopefully their courage and commitment its an inspirational boost for the whole team.
