Koch, Richardson, Davies and Hinkley's responses to the last preliminary loss tells a lot.

Koch immediately took pot-shots at the supporters. Hinkley went underground for months and then bobbed his head up to take a pot-shot at the supporters, and the others didn't make comment.

It's the most telling of the club's unlike Port culture in it's history. That's where the club is at.

The true portress is their conference room.

"What Warren said woke the club up" - really? What does that even mean? Do you seriously think people went to work the next day and said "sh*t we better do something Warren was on 5double pensioner last night and said some really big words. Quick everyone lets brainstorm and see if we can do something to make him say nice things about us next week".

The only reason David Koch responded was because he was asked by the same sh*t stirrer crows commentors if he thought Ken's position was untenable which of course then makes its way back on the sports show that night and so the circle jerk continues. WGT knows how it works, you can't blame him when he's gone from a secure gig at 9 where his face was on the telly 5 nights a week to sitting at home trying to put a newsletter together and push out a podcast from his spare bedroom. Great footballer, club legend, assistant coach at North Adelaide.
I could argue further but I don't think you honestly believe what you're writing.

Its incredibly obvious the club responded to Warren's comments.

Also for the record I'm not even really on the sack ken wagon right now. With the results of the new method (not just wins and losses, but the little stuff like DBJ being shifted, us playing a ruck, some actual gameday strategic moves, Williams and Jace getting games), I'd be fine with him staying on the bench all season and helping out Carr.

Just as long as at the end of the season its either win the flag or go to Tasmania/Gold Coast.

Does the Tasmanian team need someone to set up an animal cruelty syndicate for the 18yos coming through? Or is it his ability to coach, present himself, speak sentences, promote the game that will be appealing.

I think the greatest appeal will be him no longer being at Port and Josh getting a bit of fresh air.

They’re a very good contested ball team when the ball’s in general play, they’ve got guys who can win the ball back and allow you to keep moving it forward, they’ve got punish in their clearance game, and they put pressure on when they lose it,” the dual North Melbourne premiership player said.

“They’ve got a lot of scope for improvement with their ball movement and their forward 50 is probably not where they want it to be.

“But if you’re a good side when the opposition’s got the ball, you’re a good side (overall).”

Until that Showdown loss in round 3, the Power had conceded at least 18 goals in consecutive games just once during Ken Hinkley’s 11-year coaching tenure – in July 2013, his first season.

Port Adelaide was miserly in its runs to its two previous preliminary finals, ranking first for points against after the 2020 minor round and third the next year.

The Power’s defensive improvement over the past month has come amid several backline tweaks and a difficult opening draw.

Agree with your summary of events. Can't see how this is just a rejuvenated Hinkley. It's so improbable.

I'll also add that from the outside it looks like the players & coaches have all of a sudden got serious. They have a common cause now to save Hinkley which is annoying but I'm enjoying the much more committed attitude of the players.

It's pretty funny they can't motivate themselves to win a flag, but will pull out all the stops to save their daddy

Interesting that the media keep going to Zak Butters for his thoughts on Hinkley. They've obviously identified him as a potential flight risk should Hinkley get the boot and are trying to leverage that to trigger an extension. You just know that privately, if it happens, they'll all be sitting around the tea room at News Limited or Fox Sports or wherever, having a laugh and saying "lol i can't believe they actually gave him another contract!!!".

...

Robbie’s Grays farewell was an opportunity for legends to return to the club it was great to see Matthew Primus, Gavin Wanganeen, Brendon Lade, Dom Cassisi, Dean Brogan, Chad Cornes and Kane Cornes all in the rooms celebrating with him.
...
I'm no expert obviously but it's quite possible at that time, Tredrea was still being treated as a covid leper.

Yes, perhaps the Club will follow Warren and ignore all the Covid protocols, rules and jabs

Imagine not separating these wildly unrelated issues lol

There is great merit and noble achievement in extending Ken Hinkley.

To be successful, each and every one of us must be active, aggressive, and devoted to this cause.

Laughable but thank you for the reminder of why I need to skip by this thread and stick to the footy.

What's laughable is that you can't see it.

The changes after Tredrea's comments have been dramatic. Even if you put it down to just a reaction to losing the Showdown, and somehow completely ignoring outside 'noise', it still validates his comments because it shows that he was correct in that something needed to change.

Their response to Tredrea tells you all you need to know about how much it impacted them. They all ran with the same PR line, the same talking points to counter it, and then made some of the most significant changes to the way our coaching box operates in over a decade. Not to mention the dropping of two thirds of our leadership group, including our captain.

Sorry you have quoted me here but I honestly have no idea what you are trying to say or how it relates to my post.
LOL he got a day off, did I miss something
