And a humorous quote from the interview.

Joey: "And then when I got to the swans I did do leg weights but never did any upper body weights"
Schofield: "Never did any upper body weights?"
Joey: "Never did one chin up or one bench press...for my whole career"
Schofield: (laughing) "**** off"

Shout out to RUNVS for posting a snippet in the media thread. The full interview for those who are interested.

Thanks for that. Enjoyable but not as good as the Hickey interview. It was great hearing the respect both Joey and Schofield had for some of our other players, especially Kizza who perhaps is a bit underrated.

Yeah apparently we banned him from doing weights as he was already huge and were worried how big he could get while he played in the midfield

Garry Moss, trained with us over the 2010 Preseason, so it would be one of the Rookie Picks from the 2010 Rookie Draft, Eugene Krueger, Ben Haren and Max Otten. Seeing as Haren and Otten were Key Position players, I think JPK was talking about Krueger who was a Rugby Union convert.

I took it to be a bit more of a general comment about picking athletes over footballers.

But very possible it was just about Krueger, lol.

Josh Kennedy named Sydney Swans Foundation Ambassador

The former captain and premiership player will give back to the sport in his new role with the Sydney Swans.

Man I loved how this guy played his footy.

Being a newly converted Swans fan I only watched his career from afar but he seemed to personify what the club stands for.

How do you lot rate him to other greats of the club?

An all time great of the club. So amazingly consistent, year after year. Along with Goodes and Buddy, one of the best three Swans of the 21st century.

I think he fits in my top 5 Swans of all-time (over the 30 years of following the club). Would've gotten just as much recognition as the Selwood and Pendlebury types if he played out his career with a VIC club. Was an insanely good contested mid.

He was and always will be my all time favourite Swan, head and shoulders above everyone else.
And I am happy to add, is every bit as wonderful a human being off the field as he was on the field.

Was my favourite player during his time at the swans. Up there with Goodes and Buddy.

Like you, I just loved how he played the game. No ducking, chucking, faux-tough-guy antics. Just rolled up his sleeves and went to work every game and just consistently performed, and rose to the occasion irrespective of how big the occasion was.
