Vossy this time last year….“These losses will pay us back”… I reckon we’re closing out games with a bit more purpose, maybe a bit more composure, and a touch of luck.

Still worry about him defensively, but if he sticks around and makes it a focus over the off-season he could have found himself a permanent spot.

I worry about some of the Hollywood-play too. That 30m blind handball that found a GC player in an acre of space was diabolical. But then he'll weave through traffic, draw a couple of opponents and then shoot off an underground handball to a teammate's advantage.

Maybe a bit of a learning curve. Maintain thw attacking instinct and flair, but learn when to put it away and play the percentages.

He will learn defensive nuance as he goes, but for mine, you take the good with the bad, and good far outweighs bad right now.

You can’t fist pump and cheer when those things come off and lead to goals (toe poke last week is good example), and then bemoan those things when they don’t come off.
He will get better at that balance though.

Offensively he is a huge huge asset, 7 score involvements from a back pocket/flank is massive. For context, Curnow lead our team with 9.

As for defensively, I think his pressure is fine, laid 4 tackles today.

What an insane game, one of the worst starts I remember in a long time, absolute credit to the entire team to pull it back and get the job done, Cripps was hurt and others grabbed the game by the neck.

How good is Charlie.

Despite the win, I thought going in to preservation mode with 2.5 minutes to go, whilst 5 points up was very stupid and asking for trouble.

In my opinion I yes way to long to play keeping’s off and you need to score, GC had 2 scoring shots and about 4 entries during this time.
