If we win this it will be a remarkable turnaround from 10 weeks ago.

Even if we don’t I think the team can be proud of themselves.

Yes and no. We have shown we have what it takes. Would be a huge pity if we can't reproduce that on Friday night. We can go deep. I think everyone will be disappointed if we can't get over Sydney, especially when you consider what awaits us the following week. Melbourne or Collingwood at the MCG my lordy.

We still owe Melbourne for the 2000 Qualifying Final when we dominated all day but couldn't put them away. Still burns very very deep I can still hear all the MCC toffs singing the song as I leave the ground.

Collingwood would be even bigger.

It's imperative we win.

I'm not a gambler, but sportsbet odds are $1.50 to $2.60, in our favour.
We should comfortably win this week at the MCG with a close to full strength team, the following games will be challenging.

I'm totally confident that we'll play at least 2 finals.

Really unsure about this, this we have the better team, better form but they have significant finals experience even as a young team.

We should win it easily but the players must be feeling the pressure of expectation so heavily and I think if we aren't prepared the nerves may be an issue.

There's none such thing as an easy win here. Sydney are professionals, they made last year's GF and have another year's maturity, as well as hitting form at the right time like us. Remember what they did to Melbourne in last year's first final at the G? They know what's required. And they will almost certainly bring it. We need to match their intensity AND make sure we take our chances to win this. Anything less and we're in for a nasty shock.

unlike last year's gf, we know the swannies won't be going away any time friday night - full commitment for four quarters is the only thing that will see us salute....

They 2000 final still haunts me
41 points up, IIRC and we lost. Green kicking goals from everywhere.

comfortably, rather than easily.

Usually I go into work on Mondays (which I hate) and go is it Friday yet. But this week I really want Friday to come quickly. I just want the baggers to have a fast start and not get caught napping. If the weather is going to be wet then I think that might be crucial, just my thoughts.
Is it Friday yet?

Random thought: I think there is needs to be a nail polish called 'Carlton Blue' because I had my nails done with navy and white but my sister thinks the navy looks black.
that's what I thought when I first saw eskie's..........

Surely Ed Curnow is selected against Sydney as a final farewell and chair off to the loyal servant of the club (and reward getting to play a final after years).

I don’t believe it will happen.

Yeah I can see going either way, but if he is selected it will have to also be because he can play a role worthy of his inclusion (otherwise, yeah, may be too much to risk in a final). Would be nice if he can get something special recognition wise at end of match even if he doesn’t play.

I love Ed. But if he is selected this week we are not serious.
He’s no chance.
Would be great to see him in the back of the Ute on GF day in front of Blues fans. What a send off that would be ;)
