Sorry ...I didn't read the storyWhere is that?
I know Melb Victory wanted to build a base in Footscray Park but it got knocked back because, unlike Kings Reserve, lots of people use Footscray Park all the time
Lol, good on you for coming out so strongly in support for something you haven't read.Sorry ...I didn't read the story
Wasn't the story obvious from the headlines / imagery ? .....I would have thought most would understand how the development was financedLol, good on you for coming out so strongly in support for something you haven't read.

Since when do stories relate to pictures and headlines?Wasn't the story obvious from the headlines / imagery ? .....I would have thought most would understand how the development was financed
Re: field size I don’t know why we don’t pay Centrals a fee now and then before MCG games to train at ElizabethSecond this.
This year we lost two games at the 'G by a total of 6 points against the eventual Premier and another Top 4 side, so ultimately it's not the oval dimensions that's the issue and why I softened my stance on the MCG sized second oval.
IMO, dealing with the colosseum-type atmosphere at the 'G during finals / the GF is the biggest hurdle.
Would we have loved to have an MCG sized second oval - Absolutely.
Is it the end of the world if we don't an MCG sized second oval - No.
Post the T2D project in 2031, we will have 2 x AFL sized ovals for our teams to train on.
Cannot wait for our Thebby journey to get started!

Wow so they tacked on their facilities to an existing development opportunity? Why didn't we think of that? Now this is great creative thinking .....pity some other sporting organisations couldn't get creative, instead of treading the same old development path .....BORING !

No ....that wasn't the premiseWow so they tacked on their facilities to an existing development opportunity? Why didn't we think of that?
Perhaps we should be building our facilities 30K from the CBD, we could probably put some funding into St Yves.
No ....that wasn't the premise
Conceptually ...purchase the land or industrial space (factories ect) ....manage the whole project, subdividing and profiteering from unit / apartment construction ect ...in an inner city areaWhat was the premise Wayne? From your in-depth analysis and deep understanding of the project … from the headline and the pictures only of course.
40 minutes west of Melbourne works for a western suburbs soccer team that draws less then 5,000 to games.Conceptually ...purchase the land or industrial space (factories ect) ....manage the whole project, subdividing and profiteering from unit / apartment construction ect ...in an inner city area
Profit covers acquisitions, opens up more location opportunities .....seen it done a few times by developers ....Golf Courses added to residential estates ..... in this case, it's a sporting organisation undertaking it.
Yes, it is a longer development timeline .....inner city opp though, where greenspace is limited
Of sorts ...wasn't the Adelaide Oval Hotel similar, except in reverse ?? ....I'm not familiar with the details
It's not a sporting organisation. It's a property development group that also own a sports team. This plan was already in place in 2018, it's why they got the licence in the first place. They used the sports team possibility as a selling point for their redevelopment.Conceptually ...purchase the land or industrial space (factories ect) ....manage the whole project, subdividing and profiteering from unit / apartment construction ect ...in an inner city area

I can't believe anyone thinks there is a commercial upside in buying high cost inner city land, and only developing a percentage of it because you need enough space for two full-sized ovals.Inner city area? You're on drugs mate.
