Pretty big game for both teams coming off 3-0 starts, more so for Carlton I would think.

Freo by 20. Freo's midfield is a different beast compared to the last few times these teams have met.

Carlton's Adelaide Oval curse will continue.

Should be a belter. No love lost wth Acres and Cerra at Carlton.
Both mids look good.
Think Blues have edge elsewhere (helped by a few inj to Freo)

Curnow and McKay should tip the scales Carlton's way. I am not sure that Freo has them covered. Pearce will probably go to McKay but what about the other? Ryan is not really a KPD and Draper, while promising, is a kid with 2 games under his belt.

Tough game for Freo to win.

Just can't see how a third gamer in Draper stops one of McKay or Curnow. Carlton are getting things done clinically at the moment and will do the same to break their drought at Adelaide Oval. Freo just doing enough to beat some lesser teams currently but letting Carlton get out to a fast start won't be good enough this time around.

Carlton by 85.

Harry is kicking straighter these days. Both sides have improved from last year it seems but that can all unravel pretty quickly in footy. Good luck for the weekend

Excellent. I’ll lock in Freo by 8 goals now

4-0 start to the season for the purple haze

This highlights everything I hate about Gather Round. It's nominally a Freo home game and they should be mild favourites, off the back of the home crowd. Instead, the crowd will probably be 2 or 3 to 1 in favour of Carlton. So they lose a home game, we (sort of) gain one.

We should win but I wouldn't be shocked if Freo do.

Blues by 20.

shame Walsh and cox are missing
Midfield battle would of been huge
TDK CRIPPS WALSH CERRA
JACKSON FYFE SERONG BRAYSHAW
and
COX PEARCE VS CURNOW MCKAY
would also be a cracker.
Freo have to dominate midfield to deny blues heaps of i50 otherwise blues will win.

We don't lose a home game overall though. A big strong Vic club and unproven up and coming interstate club at a neutral venue is pretty intriguing tbh.

Cox is out (keep up). Draper has been great in his first couple of games, Pearce has been awesome. But Freo backline is a unit that works incredibly well together.

Freo coming of our first ever win off consecutive 6 day breaks.

This will be a good test for both sides. Arguably the best defensive side (Freo) vs one of the best attacks (Carl).

Son Son has been in his best form. Could have kick six last week (kicked 2-4).

Freo by 25.

So is Walsh that’s why it’s a shame.
I believe Draper with Ryan helping as third man up can get the job done.

Will be interesting to see how this one goes. There is a lot of hype around for Carlton at the moment, but they've basically beaten the same teams in Brisbane and North, with Richmond at least prior to the season rated behind Adelaide (maybe not now). Keys will be in the midfield and whether Freo's team defence can stop Carlton, and how well the rebound from both team happens off half-back.
