Nah .. I go over to the G occasionally and I'm fortunate to have a few friends with MCC memberships

The hospitality options and gameday experience eclipse anything on offer at AO
I've checked everywhere in the MCC members... there's no Farmers Union iced coffee fridge to be found.

Unlike AO.

Footy is better spectating at AO.
Cricket is better spectating at the G.

It's all about where the best seats are for each sport.

Proof that you are the evil twin.

I was required to spend time all over Australia for work. Melbourne (where I spent the most time) was by far the least enjoyable and it wasn't even close. The idea of Melbourne is dramatically different to the actual lifestyle. Wouldn't do another stint there for love or money. Was actually a big factor in my decision to change careers and stay in Adelaide permanently.

Anyone that speaks poorly of living in Adelaide (or Canberra/Darwin/Hobart) probably hasn't spent much time there.
To each their own. I've done a stint in Canberra. Easy to get around, easy going work, but its very insular. Especially with the satellite suburbs.

I imagine everyone opinion is based upon their collective experience in each of the areas. You say we dont know Adelaide/Canberra enough to make a judgement, but I say the same with Melbourne.

Also, our different interests lead to value different things.

Im just saying we're a diverse group here and we shouldnt shutout peoples opinions just because some people prefer living in Canberra/Melbourne/Adelaide.

What are the chances of someone posting a legit rumour in the next 100 pages?
Need a new thread mark from the last rumour, to start here and skip the which is the best state to live in/12 month old Keays goalpost controversy.

Can't disagree with any of this .... The ridiculous traffic, no matter the time of day, or day ...it is the best part of Adelaide now, ease of getting around

You have to allow an hour and half everywhere ....there's daily accidents on the ring road, that can turn a 40 min trip into 2 hours ....just exhausting
This is why we love Brisbane.

If this rumour is true so be it. However, we completely failed to replace him. Another rumour was that big name assistants like Dew and Rutten didn’t want to join us because we were unwilling to give them senior assistant over Burns, who has been largely unimpressive here.
Yes, this was a big mistake, and one of the most critical errors we made this year.

Okay.... I'll start one.

A bloke I am close to said Olsen and Nicks were seen having a cream bun and coffee at the McLaren Flat bakery. Olsen doing all the talking. Nicks in tears.
Olsen - We're going to extend your contract.

There are a lot of people who aren't interested in living in Adelaide, including those who know the city really well.

There aren't many areas that it beats Melbourne on, I don't think. Maybe traffic?

Cost of living, beaches, hills - if you want a view Melbourne doesn't really have that.
Weather - Adelaide's weather is marginally better, especially during Winter.

Both Melbourne and Adelaide have shocking weather, so if that's a priority I don't think you live there. :)

I'm not sure of cost of living anymore - real estate is ridiculously overpriced in Adelaide, and it seems to me like you get paid far better in Melbourne for equivalent jobs, and there are more opportunities.

Beaches might be true. I'm not a surfer so it's never appealed.

We have so many people trying to move to Brisbane, there's a lineup at the border. We're happy when someone says they don't like it - we don't need people here with such terrible taste. :)
Aren't you confusing Brisbane city with Qld.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the cost of living is higher in Adelaide now because we haven't had the wage growth.

Adelaide doesn't compare to Melbourne for culture. It's ridiculous to suggest it.

The Fringe and WOMAD are great - pity about the other eleven months.
Said by someone that doesn’t live here.
If the answer was that simple Wayne wouldn’t have dodged dipped ducked dived and dodged backing up his claim.
